Victor was telling me this week that he picked up some killer cherries from a fruit stand while out on the road today. I love fresh cherries but have no idea where is the best place to get them. Last year i bought some down by Wild Flour Bakery but they were $5 for a little basket. :(
Now I have a craving for fresh apricots but those are so hard to come by.
What is your favorite place to find some yummy fresh fruit?

I get mine at costco, but it's hit or miss, sometimes its awesome and sometimes not. i would not recommend safeway- usually it's not very good, but i heard rayleys is better, but way more expensive usually too- :( good luck- i can't wait to hear where everyone else goes- i love fruit especially in the summer!!

I second Imwalle Gardens, although they don't seem to have as much stuff as they used to. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fruit stand on River Rd just past the RR tracks. I'm never disappointed when I leave there and the prices are so reasonable too!

Andy's Produce in Sebastopol.......I know it is not in your neighborhood...... They try to carry local produce, so no worries about coming from China or other places.

:yeah Mike's has great produce! It's family run and they are always helpful picking out a melon, etc.
Other than that... local farmer's markets always have a good selection. It's getting to be the time of year where you can find a farmer's market about 4-5 days out of the week.

Pacific Market has apricots .99/lb right now. I bought some yesterday bit haven't tried them yet. They look good. My parents' friends own the Palace of Fruit in Penngrove. I know it's good but I'm not sure what their prices are like.

I like Andy's on 116, I like the stand off River Road just West of Fulton (not sure the name of it but they have GREAT deals! and GREAT fruit!), also we hit up the farmers market, although they can get pretty pricey.
Also Raleys sometimes has great deals on fruits! Dh just got some killer cherries there for 2.29/lb Very yummy!

Oh man Kellie i was just by your place tpp and drove right past that garden. I am so going to check it out. Thanks ladies. I am so excited now.
There is a fruit shack off 12 and mission but I have never stopped there yet. When I was little I always loved buying fruit from the stands off the 5 freeway but it wont be for another month until we are doing that and i want some yummy goodness now :giggle

I just got back from Trader Joes and picked up some of their apricots thanks to this thread. Got me wishing for some! Anyway, they're pretty good!

I just tried the ones I got Pacific Market and they were ok, not great. They need to ripen a bit.
