Anyone know of an affordable (think cheap) Vet in teh area? I was talking to Matt about taking Berlin camping with us and what we need to bring for the site to let her on, and evidently we never had her licensed up here :bag and she is due for her next rabies shot, SO, we need an easy vet to get her in, shot and checked up on the cheap so we can get her licensed right quick...

TIA

Hmmmm cheap? What about the clinics at the petstores? They usually do clinics at petsmart every so often for free or like $5 or something like that!

Any actual vet per say is going to be a lot more than cheap. Cause you'll pay the visit, and no doubt a check up if you don't have a regular vet, and then the fee for the vax.

Western Farm and Super Pets also do the vaccination clinic. I paid less than $10 for the last rabies vax.

Humane society has a full vet clinic. They do vax appts no exam needed. Not sure of the price but I'm sure it's reasonable. They're on Hwy 12 almost to Seb.

yeah, on the site they say vax's are $7 and up, so I'm sure they don't go up too high... I'm thinking I'll call first thing Monday and see if we can get her in...

Thanks!

Rabies are supposed to be done by a vet because it is a modified live virus but I have had techs do them before so if you end up going to a vet in an office, try to get a "tech appt" which is a lot cheaper than seeing the real live vet ;) Any other shots you can do yourself and buy them at a feed store.

Thansk for the tip ;) Not so sure I could give her a shot myself, though... just a tad bit squeemish when it comes to needles that aren't attached to sewing machines... hahaha

Can I get her licensed at the human society, too? would be great to get it all done in one fell swoop ;)

The license is something you pay your town for generally but maybe since they do adoptions they would send it to the city to process for you? Like in RP the city shelter will take license fees.

(For All Tails Wagging Vet Clinic Clients only - thank you.)
Analy Veterinary Hospital, 900 Gravenstein Highway North, Sebastopol

That's cool! RP doesn't have a lot of options but man if you are late they are all over you sending notices :rolleyes

Do they charge if you've had the dog more than 30 days and haven't licensed it? (may need to fib a bit, if that's the case :bag)

Also some vets have Sat afternoon shot clinics. I know Laguna Vet on HWY used to have shot clinics on Sat afternoons. If I remember correctly you just paid for the shots not office visit charge since they just give the shots and move on to next animal. Its been over 13 yrs since I worked there so not 100% sure if they still work that way.

I feel like I should have something to contribute since DH is a vet at the Humane Society, but I don't know a whole lot about what they charge and when they do things. He's napping right now or I'd ask. Good luck!

Yeah, I thought of them first, but their next one is too late (we need it for licensing so we can take her camping with us)

I just called the Humane society and they were able to get us in tomorrow and it's only $7.50 for the rabies shot.. Yay!
