Amber Alert for 5-Year-Old Dublin Boy

DUBLIN, Calif. (KCBS) -- Dublin Police are searching for 5-year-old Justin Nottingham, who left his home in the company of Harold Bennett Wednesday night, and hasn't been seen since. Bennett is dating Nottingham's mother.
"He has a past history of using narcotics. Due to that we don't know what state of mind he's in," said Dublin Police Sergeant Nate Schmidt. "He also left in the mother's car which he doesn't have permission to drive. He also has a past history of taking the vehicle from the mother."

Bennett took the car without permission at around midnight, to go to a fast food restaurant.

He made an A.T.M. withdrawal at a 711 Store on MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland around 2 a.m.

Bennett is described as a 37-year-old white male, 5-feet 9-inches tall, 245 pounds, bald, with brown eyes and a medium dark complexion.

Schmidt says he was last seen driving a blue Honda Civic four-door with a California license plate of 5TIC261.

Schmidt says Justin Nottingham is a white boy with blond hair and blue eyes who is 3- feet tall and weighs 48-pounds. The 5-year-old was wearing a sweatshirt and a diaper, and left the house without a change of clothes.

Authorities have issued an Amber alert for Alameda county, and anyone who sees the pair, or the car, are asked to call Dublin police.

Those stories make me so angry. It seems like lately all the horrible stories of abuse/murder/neglect of kids has been at the hands of the mother's boyfriend, anyone else notice the trend?

I hope they find him :(
