The 20-year-old son of Anna Nicole Smith died while visiting his mother in the hospital where the reality TV star and former Playboy playmate had given birth last week, a Bahamas police official said Monday.
Daniel Wayne Smith died Sunday in his mother's room at Doctors' Hospital in Nassau, Reginald Ferguson, assistant commissioner of the Royal Bahamian Police Force, said in an interview with The Associated Press. He said an autopsy was under way.

they're doing the autopsy right now, but they said no drugs or alcohol were involved

That is so strange. And he was so young. I wonder what they will find if anything. That is so sad for Anna. She was so to her son.

okay I am so not in the loop! I had no idea that Anna Nicole Smith had a 20 yr old son or tht she was pregnant!!! I have to get out a little more so i can catch up on all the celebrity smut! :wink

I saw something on ET about her son last night- they didn't mention he had died in the hospital... or that she had just had a baby. They just kept showing old family video clips of him when he was a little boy- talk about sad.

That is so weird, i had heard that anna nicole was pregnant but i didnt know that she was so close to being due! that is so sad that her son died on the same day that her other child was born....i wonder why he died? i have a subscription to the US weekly magazine so i will read next weeks issue because i am sure that they will have a story on it and i will post what they say.

They say no drugs or alcohol so JR and I are thinking it must have been a cardio-issue.. I mean, they said he was just slumped over (like he was asleep) in the chair... you'd think if he'd been in pain he would have told someone... so it must have been sudden or even while asleep.
It's very sad, but it's nice to know he got to spend 2 days with the baby after it was born... not that the baby will ever remember that, but it's still comforting in some ways.

Yesterday they released info that there was a third person in the room when he died like they are implying it was murder?

Yeah, and they also said that they think there was drugs involved, and that he was vomiting violently before he died? This was on the news last night, but I guess we'll all know for sure soon enough.

The "other" guy that was in the room was one of Anna Nicole's lawyers. I read an article this morning about how they are going to bring charges up against someone though- but they aren't releasing anything else about it because they don't want to taint potential jurors...
