Lynette 08-08-2008, 09:05 PM Oh I LOVE the opening ceremonies and hearing all the stories about the individual athletes and how they overcame incredible odds to be there! In fact, I downright cried when I watched the last ones in Australia. Granted, I was pregnant with Alaina at the time, but still, they were beautiful. I am DVR'ing tonight's though so I can FF through any commericials ;) becky 08-08-2008, 10:00 PM ooh Lynette can I come over and watch them with you? DH totally forgot they were on until 30 min into it. We started watching when the show of 2008 drummers where doing their thing. That was so f-ing amazing. SO far the ceremony is amazing. I love how with each country we get to learn so much about them through/during the opening ceremony lornabrown 08-08-2008, 11:13 PM I LOVE the Olympics. To this day I can remember where I was when Mary Lou Retten won the all around gold, watching Katarina Vitt and Kristi Yamaguchi do their winning long programs, Greg Louganis having his diving accident and more. Thank God for the DVR and Comcast on Demand so we can watch without commercials. Leigh 08-08-2008, 11:14 PM I would if we had TV! The Olympics are one thing I would turn on the TV for. . Looks like she's competing again. It brought a tear to my eye to see Michael Phelps win not only the gold for the 400 medley.. but to also break the world record. His mom and sister were crying.. was so moving lornabrown 08-10-2008, 07:40 PM Yeah I was crying too when Michael Phelps was awarded his medal.
