View Full Version : picture upload failure juliansmom 08-12-2008, 02:53 PM I am having technical problems. I have tried to upload a picture from my computer but I get an error message each time. The avatar changing is spotty too, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Any tips? I have noticed that sometimes the avatar changing works if I log off and log back on. erin anne 08-12-2008, 03:43 PM That used to happen to me...Your picture file is probably too large. try uploading it to a photo hosting site (I like Flickr) then grab the url, click on the yellow mountain icon to attach pic. Click on the picture you want and then on the lower right select "link to this photo" the second option is what you want to use IN your posts... for the avatar, still copy the second string but edit out the first half so it just leaves the actual photo address. I hope that makes sense. hmmm...I can't find the "link to this photo" button. I have a web album button and a export button. Maybe I don't have the same version of Picasa? Okay, I got some pix onto my Picasa web album but I am not sure I am following your above instructions correctly because now I am getting "invalid file" when copying the link onto the space for the avatar. Slueth what I am doing wrong??? Marisa 09-19-2008, 03:36 PM :lol Actually, Picasa *just* changed that little box for some reason and now there is waaaaay too much code for what we need for the avatars.
