Need a mechanic

The check engine light has been on for a couple of weeks in my car and I don't want to go to the dealership. My husband isn't overly happy with the mechanic we have been using, so I'm looking for a recommendation for a reliable, trustworthy Toyota mechanic.

Meagan-- I had to get a new clutch in my car about a year ago... I didn't have a mechanic so my boss told me to go to his. He said he's been going to the same place for 30 years. It's called Tri-Star Automotive and is located behind the Corby Auto Mall on Kenwood Ct. Their number is 571-8866. Anyway- long story short-- They initially quoted me $1500, which was less than I had been quoted elsewhere. They only charged me $1100 and called twice between the first quote and once it was ready to get "re-authorizations" since the price was dropping!! Even my hubby was impressed and we've both decided we're definitely sticking with them. They don't give you a shady feeling... at all. I HIGHLY recommend them (and so did my boss!).

Kaisa: where are they located...in what town. We have a toyota too and my husband is always looking for a good mechanic. We didn't have much luck with the last one we used.

They are in Santa Rosa-- Off Dowd Drive. They aren't specific to Toyotas-- They do all cars. I have an import too though and I haven't had any problems with my clutch.

I also have a mechanic that I like... over off Summerfield Rd. (Across from Howarth Park) I had a water pump go out on my truck on a Friday afternoon and he came in on Saturday to finish it up so I wouldn't be without it all weekend. Great customer service!! My friend's dad is a mechanic in SF but my friend lives here so they had to find someplace Dad would trust. That's how I got the recommendation. It's called Al's Village Repair 539-1266
