This is where I grew up. A mile from my family home........It makes me want to cry.

Marginal timber land? 20,000 acres is not marginal. The river is so full of sediment now from the logging.......and this is supposed to help? Stripping the land will help keep sediment out of the river? What about the spraying? Will that stay out of the river?

Not trying to start a debate.......just PO'd about the whole thing........

why can't people leave nature alone? ya grapes bring in more money but at what cost.

I don't know too much about the argument but it seems silly to me to get rid of THAT much of the forest...20,000 acres! It seems excessive to me in a place where we seem to have more than enough vineyards.

good point. and its not like there is still open land available in some areas that "could" be used if growing grapes was such an extreme necessity
