Who else has seen this movie? We watched it tonight, and WOW. it was GOOD. Chilling, but kind of empowering. It felt sooooo good to see real people taking control of a bad situation and trying to help themselves. Such heroes!

No, haven't seen it. I think I have been shying away from it mostly because it is kind of a guessing game as to what really happened and there is a part of me that is annoyed that people are making movies about 9/11 already and profiting from it. Kind of dumb, I know....

I don't think I am going to see movies like that either. Ever since Baby Eman was born I tend to want to live in my own ignorance as much as possible...
:anyone
It seems like I don't really want to know all the details about the bad stuff that happens in the world.

Amen to that! I have been living a life of more "ignorance" since J was born 5 years ago. His birthday is forever "marked" by that horriffic day. FIL actually refers to him as being "born 2 weeks after 9/11" when introducing him him to people, so he never gets to "live it down" and neither do I. Now I have a baby born the sept of 01 and the 5th anniversary.

Lisa-- That's unfortunate that your FIL feels a need to mention that over and over.

On a side note... Wow, two kids born in September... At least we know that you enjoy New Years! :smile

See, and i'm quite the opposite. September 11 was 1 day before my birthday and i was a senior in high school in PA (north of Shanksville)... it was the first "huge event" of my lifetime.
I feel the need to know as much as I can.

From what I know, they pieces the story of United 93 were put together from things they heard on the black box, and things they foudn out from families that were called. They said they got information from families members from EVERY PERSON aboard the plane.

To be honest, it isn't scary. It's actually VERY empowering to know that a normal person, 2 normal people, 10 normal people, could make such a huge difference in the fate of so many other people. I'd be proud to call any of those heroes my family :love

Jackie- I'm sure it all hits closer to home for you- since you were in PA...
