You look at your own child/children and think about how much more beautiful the world is because of them... and then you read something like that and it's like an ugly reminder that there is also a very dark side to the world... LMS 09-25-2006, 09:45 AM Bobbi, that's so true :( They set the bar so high as to how gruesome these things have to be in order to be 'shocking' and noone seems to have a problem surpassing that bar. It's sometimes easier to live in denial that things like this don't go on....because I'm mean, REALLY?...who could even imagine for a second that ANYONE would be capable of such viscous, disgusting (I can't even think of words bad enough to describe it because I'm sill in shock that it even happened!) behavior! I'm just sick now, very, very sad and sick :( Lynette 09-25-2006, 03:25 PM Sorry, I usually try to stay away from the news myself for the very same reason :( The only reason I was following the story was when they first started talking about the kids were only missing and they hoped they were still alive so I had my fingers crossed and never expected such a terrible ending. KaisaG 09-25-2006, 06:09 PM I did that after news broke that Lacey Peterson was missing... I was so hopeful they'd find her. I even prayed (and I don't really pray) for Lacey's safe return. After they found what was left of her and her son, I figured it's best just not to watch/read that kind of stuff at all. That way it's not so depressing when you hear the outcome.
