Well, the DH is offering to take Amelia to daycare three times a week to help out some. Right now I have been the one to take her and pick her up everyday and it is wearing on me.

So anyways, he has a small car (two seater) so I need a carseat for her that will fit but still safe. He is using the carrier right now but that won't work soon. Any suggestions? I would prefer not to spend too much money just because it is only three days a week and I am not sure how long this arrangement will last.

And please, no lectures that I can't put a price on my daughters safety.

Thank you!!!!

Susan... I am days away from upgrading Natalie from her infant Graco Safeseat. It is still an "infant bucket," but it goes to 30 lbs and 32 inches. It was purchased brand new last March. The carseat cover is brown with green trim.

I will be offering up the whole "system" of seat w/base, and the "frame stroller" it goes in (picture attached).

Would that be of interest to you? Or are you looking to go straight to toddler seat?

Well, the size would work but I don't really need another system or stroller for that matter. Plus she is already facing forward in her Britax in my car, I am thinking that something forward facing as well would be best.

I suggest the true fit my compass/the first years
because it has a detachable head rest that makes it fit rear facing in smaller cars but can be reattached rear or forward facing to use upto 65 pounds with the harness!!

I saw that in a magazine and forgot all about it. It is probably too new to be tested on Consumer reports but that it a great idea, then later if we have a different car or something it will still work. I will check into it.

Are you going to forward face in the front seat?

surmick

yes ma'am. it is too small a space to rear face a convertible seat.

If you are forward facing her anyway I think I'd go with a nautilus. It is $150 and will last you until she is ready for an adult belt. Something that doesn't have a base.

Do you think it would fit in a small two seater? It is a Miata if that gives you a mental picture. My Britax hits the door when I try to put it in.

the smallest seat would be the $199 ish radian. The nautilus is approximatley the size of a standard graco booster seat, a tad wider. Lemme go check the car-seat site for ya....

Maybe you can switch cars on those 3 days DH takes her? Just a thought and you wouldn't have to get another seat...

The thing is that I am still picking her up those days and there is not a time that we can switch half way.

I saw that in the sales ad but had not gotten a chance to go over and see how big it is. What stores will let you take the seats to your car? I need to hit those first i am guessing.

go take a look at target. I saw the nauti there and it does seem to be a bit smaller then the britax so it might fit in DH car

I need to hit those first i am guessing.i think you can go to toys r us and they will let you try it in your car. for sure baby news will let you and its not like you have to buy the seat from them. Don't forget if you end up finding a seat you like at target you can get a discount with AAA. If you dont have AAA let me know and i will help you out :thumb
