I'm definately in favor of the "scarlett letter" type branding for all sex offenders. Having them register in their neighborhood just isn't enough for me and that doesn't mean they will stay in thier neighborhood. These sex offenders could be on vacation or shopping in another town and we would never know it. We could walk past them in the store or on the street and for all we know they are just another person. I'm all for branding these sick bastereds. Probably! Just what people really want... their tax dollars being used to remove a tat from some conivicted child molestors forehead! I say they should leave. I'm with becky... you don't know who they are even when they register. Did you know that in like a 5 mile radius of my house there's something like 200 "registered" sex offenders???? SCARY! You can go onto www.watchdog.com (I think this is the site that Oprah started to help find sex offenders who were violating their parole) and do a search for your neighborhood. there's one guy that lives practically next door to my brother (he has a 5 yr old boy and a 2 yr old girl) which also happens to be 5 ouse down from my parents! The world just isn't safe anymore. :( |
