I have a friend that is going to have a baby in November and I started telling her some of the websites she should hit (Huggies, Similac, Gerber, etc...) and I was hoping that you could suggest some other good websites for new parents. It could be because of the info they share or the free stuff you can get.
And of course, I told her all about www.sonomacountymom.com!

I love them! I still visit Lucas' occasionally, though not much because he's so different than the kids his age now. And I'm still very active on Kaylyn's. I had been getting pretty regular on the angel's board, but obviously don't visit anymore. Too hard.
When Lucas was in the hospital people on both his board and Kaylyn's were so wonderful. He received so many cards, prayers, and presents. I've made some really good friends and gotten some great advice.

Me neither, I think it was hard to relate just because most were so far away and I never got any facetime with them. I think why this works for me is because I can imagine Brooke LMAO or Becky shrugging at some lame suggestion.

I also loved my Babycenter birth board. I became close with a lot of mom's and we have a private forum now where we keep in touch. A lot of the mom's meet each other in person when they go on vacations and are in areas near each other.

Same here. They made a new forum where they weren't regulated (what they can say and all that) because we're such a raunchy bunch lol. And yeah, a bunch of them meet when vacationing (or just because they live close to each other). I was supposed to meet one once but it was a few days after Brian and I had split up last year, so I didn't feel up to it. I know I'll meet her eventually, though (she's a pretty good friend and visits Reno a lot).

That's funny! Our group is the same way and another reason for going private was so more of us would feel comfortable posting pics and personal information. It's so much fun and those ladies really helped me get through my first year of motherhood! When Chris made fun of me for going on there I told him they were like my co-workers. Ha Ha! It will be really nice to meet your friend one day. I hope to meet some of the ladies at some point too.

It is awesome that you both had/have such great experiences with them! Maybe I just didn't hang in there long enough? :dunno

I think a lot of it depends on when you join (both what time of year and at what stage in your pregnancy or how old the child is), how active you initially are, and the overall dynamic of the board. I totally know that some boards are just better than others.

I am a member of www.connectingmoms.com. I don't visit the site much these days but they always have companies offering up their products for review. You get the keep the product and review it. The process can be slightly involved to actually get a product to review, but in the end there are some really great products on there.
Try googling freebies for parents and see what comes up.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but I like mamasource.com. I found it to be really helpful in the beginning. I would post the silliest questions and people would respond. Okay, at the time my questions didn't seem silly, but now they sure do!
