Halloween is probably my favorite holiday. I love the decorations, I love to see little kids in costumes and some of best childhood memories are of carving pumpkins with my dad. Scott says every year that he doesn't want to carve a pumpkin because every previous year some hooligan has smashed the pumpkin. Last year, we kept the pumpkin inside until Halloween night and then put the pumpkin on your door step instead down at the end of the drive way, so it wouldn't get smashed.

I wasn't a big Halloween person until this year (can you tell how excited I am from my Avatar???). Although I did win a pumpkin carving contest when I was 8. I carved my pumpkin into a pig.

we have gone to pumpkin path with Sevannah and my neice and nephew for the last two years now. I carved a couple little ones last year just to do it. I think we'll carve more this year now that Sevannah is a little older. She's already asking to go get pumpkins! :) It's really cute! When I was a kid we always went to the pumpkin patch to get pumpkins and we always carved them. Then my mom and I would bake the pumpkin seeds to eat. I have very fond memories of halloween as a kid!

We are big holiday people. So, yes we carve pumpkins. We also decorate our house like we do for Christmas(DH morphs into Chevy Chase at holiday time).

Cardoza's Pumpkin Farm in Petaluma is the BEST pumpkin farm you will ever find.
Unfortunately, the familys last year running it was last year and sold it to Sonoma County Parks. Anyway, here is the link....it doesnt do the farm any justice at all. We have been going every year for the last 6 years. Have never been disappointed.

We usually go to the corn maze one in Petaluma because of the animals :)

We are definitely Halloween people. We have been going to Cardoza's since Lucca was born it was always so much fun. I am bummed they sold it. For the last five or so years we have been having a pumpkin carving party with a bunch of our friends. We order pizza and carve pumpkins. It is so much fun when everyone is done we light them all up on our porch and pick the best one. We all look forward to it. We use those kits that you can buy and they turn out great. I can't wait.

:pumpkin I love halloween it is my favorite holiday! I live really close to the pumkin patch i petaluma, it is the one with the corn maze......although it might be kind of a long maze to bring the little ones to. has anyone ever gone through the maze at night? they leave it open until 8 on the weekend before halloween.

We went through the Petaluma maze once at night, it was spooky and sooooo hard to figure out!

We went to the Adobe one today just to check it out. Alaina just learned the word "pumpkin" the other day so as soon as we pulled up she started yelling, "PUNKIN! PUNKIN!" and then ran to the first one she could and tried to lift it up but it was bigger than her so she just settled for hugging it <g> They have a corn maze too, some animals, but mostly seem to be selling a LOT of decoration stuff in the barns. I think tommorrow we might go check out the one at Springhill Dairy farm because Alaina would go nuts to see a cow up close :)

We're going to check out Springhill too, because their website says that you can MILK the cow! I think Caden will love that. Everyday Caden has been telling me that he wants to wear his Buzz Lightyear costume and get candy.

Mandie (Teaguemommy) and I have a date to take the families to Springhill on Oct 15th. Don't know what time yet but if anyone's interested in meeting up... that's where we'll be. She went there last year and her kids had SOOO much fun. This will be our first year so I'm really looking forward to seeing what Brianna thinks. I was also thinking I'd let her wear her costume there.

Colleen, I didn't realize you live in Petaluma, so do I. I was at the play date on Friday. We should try to walk or something. I think you said you like to walk. Lucca and I usually get out and walk most days. After we carve pumpkins with our friends every year we head over to the pumpkin patch and go in the corn maze. I have some funny pictures from last year. I don't know what happened last year, but we looked like we had just been in a battle. That corn is prickly and it stings.

Mandie and I are taking the families to Springhill on Sunday the 15th. Anyone is welcome to join us but we don't necessarily have to set up a formal playdate. We had already planned to go regardless.

Would love to join you ladies on the 15 especially since we live so close to the Spring Hill Dairy. But Jessica has girl scout activities most of the day in town.
