No problemo :D

I just like to be informed. Makes me want to use my new food mill. Any advice or recommended recipe books?

oh ok thanks for posting that one it shows the brand....we aren't at the babyfood stage yet and never actually bought any for Skye, but we were given a bunch from various people for her....so I am not sure if we will do jar food for Sawyer at all but this sure makes me think I won't!

Not only nasty with the maggots, but glass, too? YUCK!!!

I just make our own baby food, which consists of me mushing up some steamed veggies that I take out of the pot before adding seasonings to the rest for the rest of us... just the reg veggies (carrots, sweet potatoes/yams,
green beans, cauliflower etc) and some softer fruits... But we weren't in the everything mushy stage for very long with Luke, since he was ebf until about 9 mos, I think...

I made all of J's baby food so the maggots would be our own LOL. ;) I used a book called SuperBaby Food, not really so much for the recipes but guidelines for what month to introduce foods, so it was helpful. I used a handblender instead of a food mill for puree-ing stuff up, really easy to use/clean and can later be used for regular cooking (soups, sauces, marinades, dressings) not just for making baby food.

Kathleen I like Super Baby Food! We have the book and liked it so much we bought it for a couple of people as gifts!

Of course like any parenting type book take from it what you will.....like in this one it suggests nuts WAY earlier than I was comfortable with... But overall I liked it. It has recipes for all sorts of really healthy and nutritious foods and safe cleaners you can make at home, as well as craft ideas and recipes for all sorts of projects and crafty things.

Here is the website....

Yeah, I thought the peanut and tree nut introduction in Superbaby Food was too early too, I use some other guideline of 3 years old but I am being on the cautious side, but it did give other ideas of nut butters like tahini and seed butters like sunflower and pumpkin.
