I forgot to post this yesterday in case people didn't see it in the PD. It has the same headline as the old article which just listed pumpkin patches but now it lists carnivals too. One in Sebastopol is specifically for kids from 2-6 so that sounds promising :)

We've been to both Sebastopol Halloween faire and the park and rec event. The Sebastopol one was packed and not much room to even move around. Caden got totally over stimulated and had a hard time after the event (but he has sensory issues, so could just be him) They had lots of fun games for little kids to play but I don't know that I would go back, just because it was so chaotic. The event at Steele lane was fun, lot's of people, but not so chaotic as the Sebastopol event and I thought it was organized much better.

Is anyone else planning to go to the costume parade at Howarth Park? I think I am going to go and hopefully drag my dh along for the show...

I don't think we can make the parade because of Alaina's nap schedule and not sure of the afternoon trick or treating because I have a dog show in Dixon at 2pm which is more than a little annoying because they are normally early in the morning but the schedule just came out yesterday so I am trying to figure out how to juggle it.
Okay, so who all is going to Howarth Tomorrow?? We are going!

I can't go to Howarth but I think I am going to send Brian and the girls so look out for a little blonde witch and a big black cat if you are going in the afternoon, the parade is during Alaina's naptime so they would have to go later :)

Saturday we're doing the trick or treating at Kmart shopping center in Petaluma from 11-1 pm. After that the Petaluma Outlets is having Halloween Festival with free games/bounce house that we'll probably hit.
On Halloween itself we usually do the trick or treating in downtown Petaluma. We do just the Grocery Outlet shopping center(there is more streets) then the trick or treating at the Petaluma Outlets. And last but not least we hit a few streets over off Rainer Circle where one of Julianna's friends lives.

I have been planning on taking Baby Eman to Howarth Park for weeks, but since My Poor Little Rhino is sick we're going to sit tha tone out :mecry I hope he's feeling at least a little better on Tuesday so we can take him trick-or-treating with my SILs. We are planning on going to the McDonald Mansion area. I guess that entire street goes all out when it comes to Halloween- and she said they give tons of candy.

west of the ice rink behind the mueseum parking lot is where the baseball feild is. It is my understanding that the movie will be playing there. The rest of festivities should all be in that vicinity.

This isn't something you want to take your kids to, but we went to the Dragon's Head Inn last week and it was a lot of scary fun! Here is the link www.dragonsheadinn.com

Brian went to Howarth with the girls but got there about 3pm (don't know why so late) and they closed everything an hour early! He was so pissed, they walked to all of the stations and there was only one still open so they got 2 pieces of candy and to top it off someone referred to Salina as his wife so he was all creeped out.

Sexy, I mean GROSS! Salina looks like a young teen to me, so now she has a 2 yo and is married to her step dad... someone what 3-4 times her age?
lynette: I think they closed up more than 1 hr early b/c we got there at quarter to 2 and brendan got NO candy... at all. Couldn't even FIND "stations"

I know, poor Brian told the lady she was his 13yo daughter and she just fumbled and said she looked very mature. Uh huh. Brian asked me when he got home if I thought if everyone else was thinking the same thing but just didn't voice it. I was trying to make him feel better and said no, they are probably thinking he is a lucky bastard :D

Wow, so lame!! Brian will feel a little better then, he was worried it was his fault for being late because someone was telling him it was "crazY' earlier and he should have been there. Apparently Alaina was not feeling very adventurous today anyways and screamed on the carousel, pony rides, and the train. Oh well!

no! I couldn't even FIND a place to pay!
Which was confusing to me in the first place.... b/c i dunno where they'd be taking money as it's a BIIIIG free park with like 55 entrances.

It was at the train station. When I told Brian about your experience he said that everything was closed *except* the place that takes your money!

I wondered the same thing... how could they keep people from getting candy before paying (at noon that is) maybe that is what happened no one was paying yet they were getting the treats. Heck even if they ran out they could have taken $50 or $100 (only 10-20 entrance fees) and ran to safeway for more candy...

Yeah, they give you a piece of paper that had the stations on it (boathouse, train, carousel, the playground, and a couple of others) so when you go to a station they put a sticker on it that you have already been there. We have the paper that he paid for with one lonely sticker.
