that's what we had before we had Kaiser...we liked it...but they were always losing accounts at places we liked. :(

I hope no one here with anything big planned is now facing increases for out of network stuff. :(

Every time SRMH changes the insurance they carry for their employees, they cancel the contract with the insurer. They've probably resigned with some of the companies but for awhile they were not providers for Blue Shiled, Blue Cross or Pacificare. Nice for you when you have that insurance and you're taken there via ambulance and you end up paying out of pocket or at a higher copay rate :rolleyes

Our ENT office isn't taking it anymore either. I'm trying to sign our office up with Anthem and it's been quite a fight. I don't really want to sign up with the insurance companies at all, but at the same time we've lost 3 patients in the last 2 weeks because we are not in the network. It's a very sharp-2 sided sword. :(

I just switched the kids from healthnet to Blue Cross because our office doesn't take it anymore. This is the reason our favorite doctor switched to Kaiser, we've had so many problems with the private insurance companies and there you don't need to deal with all this extra crap. Maybe I'll just switch them to Kaiser and get it over with!!

We have Blue Sheild and I hate it. My husband's union just switched to them from PacifiCare. We also have the option of an Indemnity Plan or Kaiser and I think at the next open enrollment we will switch to one of those.

I wish some one in congress would bite the bullet and work on a national health plan. Medical "Insurance" is just a bad industry. You can only make the shareholders happy if no one ever gets sick. Or if they do you find a way not to pay. It just bad business.

seriously.

my grandparents were telling me the other day how when they moved to tennesse there was a state thing where you could gt completely free medical insurance if you couldn't provide it yourself and all you had to do was prove you resided in tennessee. they had to change it in the past few years because the state was losing a lot of money, but the fact that they even thought to do it was awesome. now it's for people below a certain line, like medi-cal, but the line is apparently really high. we need that for the entire us.

I'm glad Blue Shield worked something out. Insurance can be so frustrating!!! We just switched from HealthNet to Blue Shield. I had the option of going to Kaiser but I will never ever go there unless I absolutely have to. I have heard too many first-hand horror stories.
