Hi. I am a SJRC Basic photography student and I am planning on taking some informal family portraits in or around Petaluma. Anyone have any advice on finding the best locations. Where do you like to shoot?
Thank You!

ooh i haven't had a chance to play in petaluma aside from a session I did where we used my clients neighborhood near the creek. Over the weekend I went to Lucceshi Park and really liked it. If you are willing to come up this way there are lots of places I can recommend.

I don't know street names in petaluma...I'm sure someone else will know...but it's got full sun most days on the side that faces the tracks...but the colors of the walls are so rich and awesomeeeee....it's like before the grocery outlet coming from old redwood hwy :lol like I said I'm no good with street names in my own town...let alone petaluma :giggle

Brooke - do you know how Kendall Jackson is right now? That's always seemed like a good spot for pics. We want to do a vineyard family pic. I liked all the gravel paths and benches there.

Yeah. Becky it's the Fulton exit. Just on the West side of the freeway. Really neat spot. The pictures don't show the vines. I haven't been there since I was pregnant with Mo. Then there were some vines in the garden showing the different types of grapes and it was free range in the garden. Not like at Korbel where you can only enter during a tour.

Wow, lots of places I have never been too! I've only been in Petaluma a year. Just reminds me there is so much left too see. Has anyone been to Cornerstone Place in Sonoma. I went over the weekend with my children & I was able to get some really nice photos of them. They have such pretty gardens, lots of really interesting backgrounds. Thank you everyone for your imput. I will have to get out and explore!
