I am really interested to see this!:thumb
And a side note:
I personally don't see anything wrong with the concept of airing something like this, yet I have heard so many slanderous remarks such as "abuse of power and money" and "he's just buying votes" and "this just proves how slimy he really is"...etc. I happen to disagree with all those statements btw! They seem childish and mostly said out of jealously really.
Even if I think the election should be more policy focused, and not as money centered, that is what we have evolved into as a whole...and why we still have only two parties when it really comes down to it. I mean, IF the third parties had more money, they would be able to keep up, and then would essentially be able to get their names out there too.
It's just how we seem to have evolved....good or bad..... money is a part of society, and politics, yes, some do abuse it, but this doesn't strike me as a bad thing...
..... what I don't like is hearing the other parties', and or voters' whining about how it's not right...when really, they seem to be thinking...it's not fair....well.....if someone else has better fund raising/business skills....I don't see that as a bad thing...but rather a good thing.... just my opinion.....
Anyway....is anyone going to watch????

I am going to watch it and I think that if he can do it, he should it. If the republican had the money they would do the same thing, they are just too busy buying new clothes apparently. ;)

I'm looking forward to it. I hope my MIL is here to watch it too since she doesn't have tv.
I'm confused though, isn't there something about each candidate getting the same amount of air time? Or is that just for like news broadcasts and whatnot?

While the jokes are funny, this is a serious matter. McCain pledged to stay within certain campaign funding guidelines. Obama, during the primaries, stated that he would adhere to the campaign funding guidelines but "changed his mind" and now has an enormous amount of $$. McCain can't spend over the 'limit' or it would violate his pledge.

Obama is spending millions of dollars per network for this "infomercial".

Obama said he would "consider" taking federal financing and adhearing to the spending limits that entails. However, he declined federal financing (which I think is a good thing).
Obama has been able to raise soooo much money because he is an inspirational leader and very well organized. These are attributes we could use in a president.
Yes, I think that non-supporters are complaining because they don't have the money or creativity of thought to do what Obama has done. And he didn't pre-empt the World Series no matter what you have heard. He bought time from 8-8:30 and the WS was scheduled for 8:37.
By the way it was shown at 5pm local time and I was impressed. He really made his final case for why he should be president.

I thought Obama said he would sit down and talk about it with McCain but then changed his mind but because they never sat down and agreed that McCain was not tied to any commitment either? I do kind of think it is a case of sour grapes on McCain's part since he didn't bring this up until after Obama got a bunch of $$$ but either way, Obama didn't do anything illegal.
I didn't watch, I forgot and already voted anyways.

I saved the "show" on the DVR..I guess I'll get to it at some point. Even if Obama had agreed to public financing I am not upset at Obama changing his mind. I think if a politician can get together his/her own money than more power to 'em. People change..it happens. McCain has changed in so many ways since 2000 that I don't even know what he stands for anymore.
