So, with baby Cole coming in little over a month, me and DH have been trying to be proactive in finding a good Pediatrician in the area. I'm delivering at Marin General (I work there), so I've gotta come up with someone before I leave the hospital otherwise they just assign us someone.

Yesterday, we met with Dr. Faye Lundergan in Petaluma. She was nice, but I don't want to just go with the first one we meet, ya know? With the first time parents jitters, I just wanna make sure we make the right choice.....:confused

I don't have Kaiser, I have the Sutter insurance, which is basically like any other HMO I've ever had before.

Any recommendations would be WONDERFUL!! :thankyou

Just remember that you can always switch doctor's for Cole if you end up not loving the first one you go with :thumb

We use Dr. Smith's office in Santa Rosa. They just changed their name to Annadel something. I cannot remember what it is but they are all great in that office. Fast, efficient and they have a great before hours morning sick clinic. If you get in between 8am and 8:30am you can get seen by the dr. Your child has to be sick, it cannot be a well baby visit or a "my child needs a physical" visit. We have used it so many times and it is such a life saver.

We use Sutter - Dr. Miraglia, his phone number is 707-545-2545. He is also the head neonatologist at Sutter.

Caden saw him at the ER a couple of times, he was really nice. He wasn't even very miffed that he had to come in on a Saturday night to get a raisin out of Caden's nose that wasn't there :giggle

My boys just started seing Dr. DePaula in Petaluma and I really like him. My boys also really liked having a male doctor, they were way more willing to let him check them out then they were for their previous one (a woman). Although, at this point gender doesn't matter as long as you like the dr. I loved our old dr, but she was in Santa Rosa and I am tired of going there everytime we need to be seen. Her name is Dr. Hellings and she is Family Practice, so, she saw me and my kids and she delivered both my boys.

Dr. Depala is who we have too. We love him! We loved our doctor in San Jose...but Dr. Depala spends sooo much time with you, and really answers all your questions very thoroughly. Hes in Petaluma, behind the hospital.

Thanks so much ladies!! I've actually heard quite a few recommendations for Dr. Depala, which is great because he shares a practice with Dr. Lundergan! I think we might just go with either one of them to begin with. I really didn't want to have to make the drive to Santa Rosa if I didn't have to.

I was curious if anyone else posted about pediatricians. We really like Morgan's pediatrician, who my OB recommended to me, as like you, I had no clue who to choose. We go to Dr. Zembal in Santa Roas (off of Farmers Lane) and he is really nice, and spends as much time with you as needed to answer questions. He's never been rushed with us either, which is very nice.

I was surprised no one else mentioend him in their posts.

Hope you found one that you really like for Cole!

I have had Dr. Lundergan since my son who is 4 and 1/2 was born. She is wonderful! I live in Santa Rosa but won't change doctors. She has gotten both of my kids through some difficult times and she will be my doctor for this third one too. Obviously I recommend her.:thumb
