Hi All: Recently discovered the Vintana toddler park in Windsor. LOVE the fact that its gated. Its fun to let the little ones run and not have to worry. I am hoping that others moms can enlighten me about other gated parks in Windsor or SR. Can you please also include what kinds of activities the park has (i.e. swings, slide, etc.). Thanks SO much.

Mom to Kaylie (20 months) & Kyle (4 months)

PS - I tried to google Libby Park (sounds great) but I was not able to find it. Is it in Santa Rosa?

I was trying to find the park in Windsor after the Crew Cuts & Pigtails fiasco I had the last time I was there but couldn't find it. Where is it?

If you take the downtown Windsor exit (from SR) turn left at the end of the off ramp on to Old Redwood. Old Redwood turns in to Windsor River Road. Stay staight (past McDonalds). Then turn left on to Windsor Road. Cokas Dikos will be on your right. Follow that pas the high school and turn right on Reiman Lane. Make your first right on to Oak Park Way. Stay straight (around a round about). You kind of T into Romper Drive. You will see the park. You turn right on Romper and its right there on the left hand side.

It's great. My toddler will play there for hours. Its gated. Has 3 slides, 2 toddler swings, a large climbing structure (that my 20 month old has no problem manipulating) and a few of those little rocking horse like things.
Love it!

Hope you find it.

Let's see in Santa Rosa the following parks have "gated" options:

* Galvin Park in Bennett Valley
* Brush Creek
* Franklin Park

I'm sure I'm missing some but those are coming to mind. I think FP is the only one that offers a potty (or porta potty) for those of us with kids in underwear.

Pioneer Park off Peterson Lane in West SR. They have slides, climbing stuff, etc. The only drawback is there are no bathrooms for potty trained kids.

Colgan Creek has a gated area. It is off of Bedford behind Target on Santa Rosa Ave.

As mentioned, Brush Creek has a gated area. No bathrooms. There's a play structure with slides, there's sand, and a big water faucet thing that allows water into the sand. There's also a shade structure with a lattice thing on top--but, during the middle of the day, it nevertheless gets too sunny and hot there for my taste. Well, not on a day like this : )

Sunnyside (i think that is what it is called) in Rohnert Park is gated as well.

There's also one on Brooks Road just past the middle school.

From 101:
Take the Central Windsor exit
Straight through first stop light (Old Redwood Hwy)
Left at second stop light (Brooks Road)
Park is on the right side - just past the middle school, between the Boys and Girls club and the skate park.

:yeah

its great b/c its just the toddler play area that is gated off so you dont have to chase them aroudn the whole parkk or worry about the older kids knocking them down.

Thanks for the park info... I went there today with Dylan and my nephew Jackson.. J had a great time running around and going down the spiral slide. The only thing Dylan could do was the swing since the ground was bark. Too bad it wasnt sand or that fake soft gravel stuff so I coculd have at least put him down to explore. Once he gets older I see us having a blast that that park!
