What setting do you use......

To take pictures at night with Xmas lights?
The firework setting....can't use...makes in all blurry...cool affect, but not what I'm looking for.

Do you need a flash?

if you are trying to get the lights as you see them at night then you would need a steady surface to set the camera down to take the pic if you dont have a tripod. if you are just trying to take pics at night then flash would work.
