Iraq's High Tribunal on Sunday found Saddam Hussein guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced him to hang for the 1982 killing of 148 Shiites in the city of Dujail. The visibly shaken former leader shouted "God is great!"

The death sentences automatically go to a nine-judge appeals panel which has unlimited time to review the case. If the verdicts and sentences are upheld, the executions must be carried out within 30 days.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but I find it interesting that the trial has been going on for months and they just come up with a verdict days before an election. Granted it is not a presidential race but still...

i know...it seems that everything major these days are somehow affected by elections. This is why i wonder if they will hang him quick or drag thier feet some more. I jsut want to see the basterd pay...then they need to get off thier asses and find binladen though i somehow doubt they ever will.

Find him will mean the bad guys are found and we would have no reason to be in the middle east....what will america do? (sorry i'm being sarcastic)
