View Full Version : How many TVS do you have? surmick 01-08-2009, 01:24 PM How many do TVs do you have? surmick 01-08-2009, 01:26 PM We have four and then one that is out in the hanger, but I don't count it because it is not plugged in. Marisa 01-08-2009, 01:27 PM We have one in the LR, one in our BR and one in Brianna's BR that's just used for movies. surmick 01-08-2009, 01:28 PM Yeah, the one in Amelias room is not plugged into cable so we just watch DVDs on it. becky 01-08-2009, 01:30 PM for the longest time we just had 1 in the living room and one in the girls room but now we have a huge one in the master bedroom and another in the office. they all are hooked up to the dish but only the living room and the girls room can play DVDs lornabrown 01-08-2009, 01:46 PM Good thread! We have one in the living room and one in the kids playroom (the family room). None in the bedrooms as I've always been against that but since my dh ends up snoring on the couch everynight I'm considering it. He better vacate the couch early tonight for Grays Anatomy and the Practice! My3sonsplus1 01-08-2009, 01:50 PM We used to just have one in the front room but we added one to the bedroom last week when sil gave us her old one because our house is freeeeezing at night and I wanted to be able to watch tv, well dvds with my dh without shivering under 3 blankets. surmick 01-08-2009, 01:53 PM Good thread! We have one in the living room and one in the kids playroom (the family room). None in the bedrooms as I've always been against that but since my dh ends up snoring on the couch everynight I'm considering it. He better vacate the couch early tonight for Grays Anatomy and the Practice! I always tried to keep the tvs out of the bedroom because it is supposed to promote sleeping so there is none in my bedroom, but I can get online on my computer if I wanted to catch the last episode of Grey's. There is a tv in Amelia's room but there is no bed or crib in there, so I am not sure that counts. :) Brookepanda 01-08-2009, 01:53 PM we have one in the living room, and one in our bedroom Theresa 01-08-2009, 01:53 PM We have 2. Living and family rooms. Lorah 01-08-2009, 01:58 PM just one. :) wyattsmama 01-08-2009, 02:00 PM we have 1 in the living room. we used to have 1 in our bedroom too, but we never used it (it wasn't even plugged in once we moved here) and i wanted our room to feel more "adult" if you will...so we gave it away. now the bedroom can be used only for sleeping, not sleeping, and reading. thanks to that it's a much relaxing location than it was before. Stacey 01-08-2009, 02:01 PM I answered one, but technically we currently have 2 because we're trying to get rid of our 55" widescreen. We only have a tv in the family room. I won't put tv's in bedrooms. momtoM&D 01-08-2009, 02:04 PM One in the LR, one in our room that rarely gets used. At least that's what we do at our own home. Here with the IL's there's one in the LR, one in the Kitchen, one in our room and one in IL's room. surmick 01-08-2009, 02:08 PM One in the LR, one in our room that rarely gets used. At least that's what we do at our own home. Here with the IL's there's one in the LR, one in the Kitchen, one in our room and one in IL's room. I love having a tv in the kitchen! I get so much more kitchen clean up done when I know I can watch an episode of house at the same time. I will even offer to cook and clean up because of it. becky 01-08-2009, 02:15 PM I love having a tv in the kitchen! I get so much more kitchen clean up done when I know I can watch an episode of house at the same time. I will even offer to cook and clean up because of it.that is so funny. I never thought i would love having a tv in the kitchen but ever since we redid the living room so that the TV faces the kitchen I love it. I am still not a fan of it being on while we have dinner because i like the family time but since we don't allow cartoons on while we eat its not a big deal. meeg124 01-08-2009, 02:38 PM We have 3. One in the family room, my mom has one in her room (since we don't let her out too often, letting her have a tv seems like a good compromise :giggle ) and we have a tv in our room that rarely gets watched. tggrr2 01-08-2009, 02:41 PM I hate to say it but we have 6. One in the kitchen, the family room, the guest room downstairs, our bedroom, Addison's room but it is unplugged, and the guest room upstairs. The one in Addies room we put in there when she was a baby and we were up feeding her during the night. lmfike 01-08-2009, 02:49 PM I put three since all three do work but only 2 are plugged in/hooked up to dish. One is in family room and the other is in our bedroom. Shawna 01-08-2009, 02:52 PM 1 in the living room 1 in the family room tcolera 01-08-2009, 02:55 PM We have one in the living room, and one in the family room hooked up to cable. Then one in each of the 4 bedrooms for movies only. So for those who can't add that equals 6.:giggle barb 01-08-2009, 03:08 PM Just one. Maritza 01-08-2009, 03:11 PM We have only one and will probably keep it that way ;0) howardvm 01-08-2009, 03:17 PM we have one in the living room, and one in our bedroom Same here! jellybeanmichelle 01-08-2009, 03:50 PM We have 2. One in family/living room and one in our bedroom. Thank goodness! When dh watches his ghost hunters (GH) show, I usually come onto SCM or go into the bedroom and watch FoodNetwook or something like that. I'm not a fan of GH, but sometimes I will watch it. ladybish 01-08-2009, 03:57 PM way too many . . . we really only use 2 - bedroom and living room. I love snuggling with dh in bed watching some TV show. surmick 01-08-2009, 04:00 PM Now are you counting computers? I was not but the more I think about it, we watch a lot of shows and movies on our computers as well, 2 PCs and one laptop and then we have the DVD player for the car and travel. I had to use that one to get Amelia to go to daycare this morning. Luckylove 01-08-2009, 05:00 PM We have one in the living room and one in our room. becky 01-08-2009, 05:33 PM I'm not a fan of GH, but sometimes I will watch it.oh no we love that show. besides George lopez that is the only other show we all watch together weg'smom 01-08-2009, 06:54 PM We have one TV in the living room. I would like to have one in the bedroom but maybe in the future. erin anne 01-08-2009, 07:02 PM oh no we love that show. besides George lopez that is the only other show we all watch together That show doesn't scare your kids? Lynette 01-08-2009, 07:10 PM We have the monster 65in one in the livingroom downstairs and Alaina's previously DVD-only more normal sized tv in the livingroom upstairs. I also do not do tv's in the bedrooms. MamaLaura 01-08-2009, 09:12 PM Three. One in my room, one in the living room, and one in Kaylyn's room though hers is *currently* not hooked up. (ETA and when it is, it'll be DVD only) Leigh 01-08-2009, 09:52 PM I am also a member of the "No TV in the bedroom" club. We have "a" TV, but we don't have "TV". We're not hooked up to antenna/cable/satellite. We only watch DVDs. At my Dad's, they have three TV's: living room, kitchen, and master bedroom. They leave them all on, on different channels all day. It drives me absolutely mad. :nut I keep turning them off or at least putting them on mute and see how long it takes for them to notice. Ususally they don't for a while. They aren't watching them, the TVs are just on. I don't understand that mentality. :confused But I know we are in a tiny minority anyway with our distaste for TV. . weg'smom 01-08-2009, 10:09 PM I am also a member of the "No TV in the bedroom" club. I used to be a member of that club until I lived in WI. It was sooo nice to be cuddled up in bed watching a movie and eating popcorn while trapped inside by a blizzard. I miss it in some weird way. Colleen&Kail 01-08-2009, 10:35 PM we have 3 tv's. one in my room, downstairs and my parents room. Stacey 01-08-2009, 10:51 PM We have "a" TV, but we don't have "TV". We're not hooked up to antenna/cable/satellite. Same here My3sonsplus1 01-08-2009, 11:09 PM Same here I guess that would be why you don't need the big tv then :) We too are dvd only, well that and one fuzzy channel that I am not quite sure what station it is. It has George Lopez on m-f and csi but it isn't any station that come in paid at the il's house in rp... clairitygirl 01-08-2009, 11:35 PM We have four. 2 In my bedroom (tv and game tv) and one in other room and in living room becky 01-08-2009, 11:48 PM That show doesn't scare your kids?nope. they know all about the whole ghost thing. I also think alot has to do with that we are not scared by it. Now for some reason the fake stuff in movies can freak me out and i dont let the girls watch that. Kayla is fascinated by ghost and i know myah can see them from time to time so i think that is why they are not fazed by it. Kayla used to see spirits as a toddler and it never really freaked her out. she doesn't see them anymore but still she likes watching that show. I don't think Myah totally gets it and most of the time she runs around the living room with shelsea. Kellie_MO5 01-09-2009, 12:25 AM We have 4 working tv's... 2 are hooked up to antenna (we don't pay for TV, and really, don't miss all the big shows that much anyhow :thumb esp since Sunday nights we get to watch House, Monk and CSI :giggle) 1 is just for tapes in the girls room and 1 we have in the game room, but it's not hooked up to anything at the moment.. We're either gonna get another antenna, or a VCR from a thrift shop for it, I think... eventually mommykcrp 01-09-2009, 05:44 AM we have one in the living room, and one in our bedroom DH could not live without having at least our 2 TV's. Korey will not have one until he is a teenager if he does want one. Marisa 01-09-2009, 10:23 AM I used to not want one in the BR either but dh and I have *very* different tastes in tv so it's the only way I get to watch my shows. Especially now, I can lay in bed and nurse and catch up on my DVR stuff. :lol juliansmom 01-09-2009, 01:24 PM We have "a" TV, but we don't have "TV". We're not hooked up to antenna/cable/satellite. We only watch DVDs. . Ditto. And we hardly watch dvds...maybe like 5 a year... surmick 01-09-2009, 01:25 PM Ditto. And we hardly watch dvds...maybe like 5 a year... No wonder you are so productive!!! |
