View Full Version : do any of you go to River Rock LogansMommy 01-10-2009, 04:42 PM if so, do you like it? do you win? do you have any strategies, tips, tricks, or superstitions (i.e. like bringing a lucky rabbits foot with you or wearing your lucky shirt)? Shanta 01-10-2009, 05:46 PM No. It is super Ugly and destroyed the view in the valley. Lorah 01-10-2009, 05:48 PM I've never been. Dh has been, but not to play, he use to work for an armored car company and picked up their deposits.... from what he picked up I'd say most people don't win much! Theresa 01-10-2009, 07:19 PM I've been twice. No lucky stuff here--cause I've never won. :giggle Good luck! Stacey 01-10-2009, 07:37 PM I've been once. We were in the area and DH wanted to check it out. I HATE throwing money away. I get no enjoyment out of the activity. Oh, and the place stinks of cigarette smoke. The ventilation systems aren't as good as the Las Vegas casinos. clairitygirl 01-10-2009, 08:36 PM Been 2 times and came home broke lol ... so don't listen to me :P Leigh 01-10-2009, 08:52 PM Went to Sho-ka-wa in Hopland once (5-6 years ago) and played the nickel slots and lost my whole "budget". (A whopping $20.) That was my first casino experience. I just wanted to check it out. Went to Robinson Rancheria once for a show, and passing through the floor on our way out after the show, tried the $3 slots and won $200. That paid for the night out (tickets to the show, dinner, etc), so I considered myself "even." Went to River Rock once and spent my "budget" and a little more. Slots again. Didn't even get "ahead" once. Went to Street Vibrations in Reno two years ago and stayed at the Peppermill. Tried a little Keno and some slots.... nothing. I know the odds for slots are astronomical, but I played them anyway. I have heard people say, 'grab a machine that someone has been playing for a while and didn't win'. Doesn't work that way. What they fail to take into account, is the odds of winning are the same for EACH pull. DH says if you actually want to have any kind of chance at winning, play poker or 21. But I think I'm done making donations to the casinos!! . MamaLaura 01-11-2009, 03:14 AM Went to Sho-ka-wa in Hopland once (5-6 years ago) and played the nickel slots and lost my whole "budget". I thought slots worked in a way that each one is programmed to give a winner after a certain amount of pulls, and that's why you're supposed to get on one that has been played but hasn't paid out. Because that number hasn't been hit yet, maybe you'd be the one. Is that not how they work? A guy I dated a while back told me that. jellybeanmichelle 01-11-2009, 09:44 AM Oh, and the place stinks of cigarette smoke. The ventilation systems aren't as good as the Las Vegas casinos. :yeah :yeah :yeah :yeah :yeah :yeah Went there once, never again. Frome the freeway I thought it was a hotel too. Nope, that is the parking garage. :( I should of pulled my money out when I was ahead. But I didn't win anything, basicly lost the $20 in the budget, well, $40 really cause dh had the other $20. I really want to go to Las Vegas to see the Eiffel Tower they have there. :) Leigh 01-11-2009, 09:50 AM I thought slots worked in a way that each one is programmed to give a winner after a certain amount of pulls, and that's why you're supposed to get on one that has been played but hasn't paid out. So I googled, "How slots work" Here are the results http://www.google.com/search?q=How+slot+machines+work&rls=p,com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7TSHA There is no such thing as a payout cycle. The results are always random. Random, random, random -- that's how slot machines work. http://vegasclick.com/games/slots . MamaLaura 01-11-2009, 11:46 AM Well that's poopy! Thanks for looking it up! I've been to one casino up here. I think River Rock, but I honestly don't remember. Just did some slots for fun, and we didn't win anything. In Vegas I've done slots, and always made at least a couple of bucks. Usually we would do it when we had walked to the opposite end of the strip as our hotel so we could make some more money to use towards a cab so we didn't have to walk back lol. tggrr2 01-11-2009, 11:58 AM Nope we haven't gone. juliansmom 01-12-2009, 09:48 PM Oh, and the place stinks of cigarette smoke.
