Who knows of a good place to buy NICE bedding sets? I'm looking at anywhere from $150-$300 for the complete set, and I'm checking out pottery barn online. I love a ton of their sets, but it seems like most the ones i really like are on sale and are sold out in the size i need :(

What do you want included in the set? Comforter, quilt, blankets, sheets, duvet, etc? And when you say nice, do you mean pretty or feels nice? IMO the highest thread count cotton that I can afford wins hands down over pretty any day. Flannel is nice and snuggly in the winter though. I am still mourning the loss of my favorite fitted sheet that the dumb boy dog destroyed 2 weeks ago and it cost me $70 so I haven't run out to replace it.

I want "all around nice"
I'm looking at pottery barn right now and bombay but have yet to find a print/pattern i like.
A quilt or comforter is the best bet, but i want something well made.
I don't want to go cheap b/c i HAVE like 10 bedding sets that are "cheap" and there's a reason i want to replace them, kwim?
So i'm pretty much open to any suggestions.
I'm less worried about sheets than i am about a SET itself (like quilt/shams) b/c i can buy the sheets i want separatly.

Jackie if you buy from Pottery Barn you may want to stay away from the silk comforters and blankets. I have a blanket and duvet on my bed and a comforter on my guest bed. The comforter has alot of tears in it and I haven't had it very long and it doesn't get used much. If you pull on it like when making the bed it seems to shread, so don't waste the money. The same thing happened to the blanket on my bed and the duvet has gotten little pills all over it on the side that is on top of us. My husband gets really hot and the sheet usually ends up at the foot of the bed. I think what happens is that his dry feet rub on it and snag and pill it. It is only the bottom that is like that, but it drives me crazy cause it looks terrible. With kids and dogs like we both have it just isn't durable enough. Good luck. Have you tried Crate & Barrel?

that is a tough one becuase i always buy my stuff spereate. I'm like lynette and the higher thread count always wins hands down. I wont use anything less than 500 thread count and with a cal king bed that can be pretty costly, usually $100 or more for a sheet set.

Although personally, I'd probably just go to Macy's. Calvin Klien bedding is so awesome....*swoon* if only I could still afford it!

What about Nordstrom's, they do bedding if I remember right? Linen and things can be hit or miss, I like how they coordinate some of their sets but they defintely have the cheap $20 "bed in a bag" stuff too.
As far as what goes on top, we loved our down comforter especially in the winter with a flannel duvet that we used to have but that got wrecked by the same dog (what the hell is his problem?!) and I dunno if you have ever tried to vacuum up goose down but it is not fun. I ended up replacing it with a quilt whose pattern I love and we really like that one too, both are a lot better IMO than a regular comforter.

Nordstrom would have similar things to Macy's, and I dunno that it would be worth the hour long drive? Maybe I'm wrong tho. They are slightly more high-end than Macy's, and if she went all the way down to Corte Madarea she could also go to Crate and Barrel, oh...and Pottery Barn too! And Restoration Hardware.

omg, I'm in love with nordstroms. The only benefit I could see going to nords over macy's is that they'll replace anything for free for you if you have a problem with it.
hmmmm, i think i wanna go to corte madera
but thanks for suggest calvin klein! I hadn't thought to look at those!
the set i love right now is if you go tp potterybarn.com and click on the "bedding" header there is a bluish asian toile print i think it's called... and i LOVE it.
I have a 26x40" canvas painting by brendan in out bedroom as our main hanging and it's mostly blue and green with just a smidgen of yellow and red, so it would fit perfect :)
