Last Saturday we went to the Victorian Christmas Tree Farm (http://www.victrees.com) in Sebastopol. We had a great time and found a beautiful tree.
Pros:
Very friendly service
Helpful-bagged tree and tied it to our car
Nice trees
Location
Cons:
Can't cut your own-they had a bad year so all the trees are pre-cut
Price-we got a large 7-8ft tree and it was $75 (plus 10% off w/web coupon)

Don't have pics b/c it was raining :( But we went one in Petaluma this year (and the same one last year!) It's on the corner of Pepper Rd and ?? by a cemetary. Have no idea how much it was. Our tree is about 12 ft tall. My parents pay for our tree every year. We go and get them as a family... it's tradition. You can cut your own and they have some pre-cut.
We got our tree up tonight! :woohoo Hopefully we'll get all the decorations pulled down tomorrow night so we can start decorating!

OMG, how do you decorate a 12ft tree?! LOL! I think at my dad's we had a few 9 or 10ft ones but we don't have cathedral ceilings here so we have to stick to 7ft.
We got our outdoors lights up last night! Woo hoo! I think we are the only ones on the block so far??

We just went to Lowe's and got one on the way home on Sunday. It's beautiful and full and only cost $30. The guy trimmed it up for me and even put it in a net for the 5 minute drive home :) Maybe when the baby is a little older we'll do the whole farm thing...

Here's pics of us putting it up monday night! The top couple feet are missing out of the pics! LOL

We went to the Victorian Tree Farm on Hwy 116, just north of Sebastopol. We didn't buy a tree because we have a fake one but got a wreath and just went for the tree farm expeirence. This was a nice place... they have some farm animals to pet, a small gift shop (mostly ornaments), wreaths, free hot cider and pumpkin bread. They actually are not selling cut your own trees this year as they had some problems with some kind of tree fungus but have a nice selection of precuts.
Here are some pic's.

Very pretty! Where did you say you got it again? Did anyone ever post a tree farm where you can cut it down yourself?

We got ours in Petaluma. We cut it down. It changed names this year. I think it's Liberty Tree farm on the corner of Pepper Rd and Liberty Rd.

How much was it if I can ask?

personally we love it. the people that run it are super nice. they have lots of trees in really good shape that you can cut yourself... they only had a handful of pre-cut trees. The kids loved the animals....they have some cows. I forgot my camera that day... which isn't a tradegy since it was puring down rain! Wouldn't have gotten any good pics anyways between holding the umbrella and keeping Jazper happy in the snuggly!
LOL After I posted this I re-read your post Lynette and realized you asked how much $$ not how much fun! :lol Honestly have no idea how much my tree was b/c it's a tradition in my family tat we all go together and my parents pay for our trees (meaning ours and my brothers and theirs). But it depend mainly on how big they are so I know mine was on the higher end of the price range! ;) You might be able to find the prices online somewhere. I'll look and see if I can find out.

Lynette:
Here's a link to the website I found for the farm we went to. Last year it was called Wolf's Tree Farm. This year it's Liberty Tree Farm... so I'm pretty sure this is the right site.

From their site you can get to a cool link of CA certified Xmas tree farms and it lists their features too. http://www.cachristmas.com/ChooseandCutFrame.html
Looks like Little Hills Farm is run by the same people and they have Santa on the weekends!! Maybe we'll try that one.

LOL! That's ok Anna, I was looking for that type of farm anyways with all the animals, etc. Their site says they are only open Fri-Sun so we might have to go to the Little Hills one they own instead. I have a feeling my FIL will offer to pay for our tree but I am trying to find out prices just in case :)

We got our tree @ Lowes super cheap only 25 dlls for a 7" .. I'm proud to say that I made the ornaments (hearts) myself :) and thet look so cute hehe. It's Julian first xmas so I wanted it to look nice even though he'll probably won't remember at least they'll be pictures for him to see when he grows up:) I can't wait for him to be old enough and do the Xmas tree farm. So here's our tree.

Pretty Maribel! We got ours at Lowe's yesterday since my FIL was a party pooper about the tree farm. Ours is 8ft but a different species so it was more than $25 but still good prices! We went by that one in Cotati by Walgreens first and they had some for like $90! Ack!

Oh thank you guys! The ornaments are so easy to make, it's finding the time is what makes them difficult. I made them all by hand (cutting, stuffing and sewing) and the project cost me a little over 15 dollars. Be careful though. All the sewing can make your hands a little tender unless you pick up a thimble. (next time I'll be sure to pick one up, heehee.) If you happen to have any questions that I might be able to help you with, please don't hesitate to ask. Decorating this tree has been fun, and I'd love to help out anyone who might want a tid bit or two.

How many hearts are on that tree? Yeah, your little fingertips MUST be sore! Did you make the balls too somehow? It goes together so perfect. I'm going to try it. I saved your pic for inspiration.

Well thank you, I just wanted to make the best tree for my baby's first Xmas. Yes my finger tips were sore for all the sewing but now that I stand back and look at our tree it feels like it was so worth it. I'm very girly and I love fashion so I like things to match hehe. The round ornaments came from Michaels I've seen this shade of red before, and I must admit that I love it very much. Last year my Xmas tree theme was pink. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures I like this tree much better. Oh my gosh, I never thought my ideas would be an inspiration to anybody. Thank you so very much for liking my idea. It makes me feel so much happier about making my baby's first xmas tree. Please post pictures so we can see how nice your tree looks :).

Oops I forgot to mention that I made 40 hearts for my tree and I still have a little bit of fabric left to finish later and make more hearts.

WOW, that is a big beautiful tree Anna, and Maribel. I love those hearts!!!
I went crazy making photo ornaments this year. My cousin had the first Grandbaby, in my uncle's clan, this year! So I made him an ornament with this georgeous photo of his baby when she was only a month or two old. Then I added Ava Michaela's 1 Christmas 2006 to it. It came out cute so I then took a more recent photo of my cousin with his daughter and added Daddy's Girl 2006 to it, then did the same with a photo of his wife with her and added Mommy's Girl 2006 to it. I used red satin ribbon to hang them with.
I made an ornament for my Brother in law and his family. They had sent me a photo of his wife with the boys for a hand drawn portrait gift certificate I sent them. It was so cute I made it into an ornament with the year on it. They already have a set of 4 so I just send them one every year now.
I also fell in love with those georgeous photo ornaments at costco. They were silver with red gems on them and shaped like different snowflakes. They came in a set of four, and I loved them so much I bought 2 sets. Now I am picking the photos for them, and wondering if I should change out the photos each year. What do you all think?

My SIL has jsut started adding photo ornaments to her tree now that the kids are all grown and plans on adding new ornaments every year. They have a big enough house which needs two trees anyway so one will be filled with photo ornaments with family photos.
