I have been trying to find that perfect gift for my husband and now i'm not sure what to do.
He has been telling me (rather hitting) that he wants an iPod but i dont have a clue what to get or where to begin.
He also wants satelight radio but i'm not sure we can afford the monthly fee either. This one is easier to shop for since i know only one version has the Howard Stern Show but i have know idea how much the monthly fees are.
Do you have any tips for either of these?
haha, you hit me with both!
I have the ipod shuffle for when i jog. It's the bottom of the line, but it's perfect for me. If i had it all to do over again, i'd get a nano.
Go to bestbuy or circuit city and ask them to show you the ipod and the ipod nano.
The version that has howard stern is sirius...

Victor has mentioned that he wanted the nano but there are so many different kinds out there which is why i asked. I think he jsut said the nano because its what he has heard on the radio commercials.
thanks for the link Jackie. looking at everything it looks like the price for a nano vs. satelight radio with a 1 yr subscription is very close in price after the $100 rebate from BestBuy for the satelight. Oh the choices.........

Is the nano the one that plays video too so you can download tv shows and movies?

Lynette- No the nano is just a tiny little ipod that has a screen (unlike the shuffle) so you can change stuff up w/o using a computer. It's a little smaller than a credit card (except for the width = ~1/4")
iPod Video does video... a friend of mien has it and likes it, but admits the only time she uses the video is when waiting at the doctors office with her 2.5 year old

There are other Mp3 players that will work just as well as an IPOD and probably won't cost as much, so something to think about if Victor just wants an MP3 and is not "set" on the IPOD. If you do get him an IPOD, we have really loved being able to use it in the car, so maybe instead of satellite radio you can get him the car jack to use the IPOD in the car.

i have thought about that since you can now get phones that will also play MP3 files. I'm a big iTunes user which is why i tend to lean toward the iPod.
with either the iPod or Satelight radio i know i need to get an adapter so he can take it with him in his truck (big rig) at work. I'm going to have to ask him which will be better. He has told me at least one other driver has satelight radio that he taking with him on his truck so its all a matter of what victor wants more.

Becky: two chritsmas' ago I did Sirius Satellite Radio for James. Dish was having a promo. Most of the units come with a car adapter kit. The subsrciption is typically paid quarterly but works out to about $12/$13 a month i think. You can go online to http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/CachedPage&c=Page&cid=1065475754118
and check out the options and then call them if you have more questions. James loves it! He takes it with him in his work truck and when he knows he'll be running equipment all day he takes it with him. We took it on our trip to Idaho too... you never lose the signal with the satellite.
