She is 6 years old with brain cancer.
Erin Drallos (the founder of the ACPCG) did a session with Kate

Poor little Kate had to have a shunt put in yesterday to control the fluid build up in her head. Her face is half paralyzed.

Erin talked to her mom tonight and she said that people are so obviously staring at her when they take her out. And Kate sees it and notices.

She isn't doing well. St. Jude's said there is nothing else they can do for he

They need financial help at this point, and I'd *love* to get a collection going among our SCM members to send it on behalf of our group.

If you can spare just 1 or 2$ that is FINE. Obviously, the more the better... but ANYTHING is helpful in this difficult time for them.

How are you going to send it to the family? Do they need financial help with their medical bills or is it other stuff *because* of the bills? Isn't St. Jude's ones of the places that does stuff for free or is subsidized by the government?

I am only asking because recently another family I know lost their house in a fire so there was a lot of information flying around about the best way to help and send donations, etc.

this donation request was submitted by the parents to Erin - who forwarded it to all the photogs in the ACPCG.
We have an address to send checks to, and the will soon have a tax id number so that their donations will be tax exempt. I believe they are currently collecting money for plans for later (ie. funeral expenses, etc) and continuing her current care. Since St Judes is unable to provide any additional treatment for her, she is back at home at this time from my understanding of the situation.

Ugh, I can't imagine having to ask for donations for funeral expenses for your kid :( I would love to give her money to go to Disneyworld or something :(

no kidding. They should get to spend all the money on doing something crazy that very few kids get to do.
I wonder if Make a Wish has contacted her yet?
I'm going to email erin and ask her real quick.

when is the deadline to make donations? I want to forward this info to my mom who is a cancer nurse and maybe she might be able to get more donations or at least think of other ways to help. And i want to send my donation too but it has to be once i can make it to the bank this weekend.

there isn't really a 'deadline' per se... but i'd like to send in our donation by about december 10th.
