Heavy snow forced the closure of a 50-mile stretch of the Grapevine section of Interstate 5 in both directions in the mountains north of Los Angeles. The roadway is the region's main north-south artery.

Looks like we are going to get a small break until about 2 or 3 this afternoon, and then it starts back up and should last until tomorrow night around 6 or so.
