View Full Version : Few in Bay Area qualify in housing rescue plan tggrr2 02-23-2009, 09:12 AM http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/02/23/MN4R1621N4.DTL&feed=rss.bayarea CrystalD 02-23-2009, 09:22 AM I seen on the news this morning that 90% of bay area homeowners will not qualify for the housing plan, WTF? tggrr2 02-23-2009, 09:47 AM I don't get it a couple weeks ago I looked on Zillow and our house couldn't even be sold for 400K and now it could be sold for 500K. You wonder if they had anything to do with raising the prices. Shawna 02-23-2009, 09:53 AM I think his housing plan is not going to save CA. We would not qualify for it and that makes me mad. We bought well within our means, but others in our subdivision did not, so now we are upside down in the house. And we are not within the 5% gap needed to qualify. Poo on his housing plan. Alot of their information is bogus. tggrr2 02-23-2009, 09:56 AM That's what I was thinking about Zillow just like to get a ball park. We are going to have a friend who is appraiser see what our house can be appraised for. Hoping he will lower it that 5% for us to qualify. Otherwise we are going to have to sell it. My mom is a real estate agent and she gets so pissed at Zillow for a lot of their messed up information. Having an appraisal is your best bet. surmick 02-23-2009, 10:24 AM Yeah looks like we may have just missed out on the 105%. This just sucks in so many ways. Having an appraisal is your best bet. Me too! I don't know how they get those numbers!! If anyone wants to know what their neighbors sold for PM me since I am also in real estate, it will give you an idea of what your house will sell for. Its funny because it is not what your house is 'worth' it is more what will your house sell for. *Please make sure that you check with your CPA and real estate attorneys regarding new laws for foreclosures and short sales. |
