i have been wanting one ever since i was pregnant with Myah but never got one. Now i want one more than ever but can't bring myself to spend the $200 to get teh one i really want.

I'm guessing since i spend so much time in the office i think having a moses basket would be so useful and take up less room as i take her from room to room. I used to pile blankets on the floor for myah and i dont want to do that with the baby.

I had a Moses basket for Caden and I think I used it once. I didn't like the way he fit in there. I kept a cradle and a swing for him in the livingroom and I used those much more often.

what was it about the fit that you didnt like?

Wow, I had no idea they were that expensive! I never had one but liked the idea of it. What about a sling? I tried one with Alaina but it was too late, she didn't like it and was just used to me carrying her around.

Baby E hated slings too. He was pretty young when we tried it and he got upset the second we put him in there... I wasn't surprised though- he hated to be swaddled too. We used this and Baby E loved it. We're lending it to my SIL for her new little girl :) http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_1/601-2478763-5274514?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000BXAIDA

oh the moses basket i want is only that expensive because i want it in a hawaiian print. i have been looking everywhere for just the right fabric. I saw the one my neighbor got at ross and even though it was cheap (like $40) it wasnt what i had in mind. it really didnt look comfortable at all for the baby.

I already have a Mai Ti carrier that was made for the baby (told those are just awesome) and a baby bejourn (myah didnt care for it to much).

I have a baby swing and myah was okay it in for awhile but its not really the ideal place for her to sleep. But then again every kid is different.

i have a playyard but i'm afraid its going to take up so much room so that is why i keep coming back to the moses basket. this is a tough choice all the way around.

I think because Caden was such a big, chubby baby he just didn't fit in the basket very well. I really wanted a moses basket and thought it was something I would use a lot but I just never did.

big baby? you could never tell from the photos :)

my babies are usually about 7lbs so maybe this new one would be small enough?

He was 8.7 when he was born but he plumped up almost immediately! lolololol

I was so freaked out as a first time mom that if he touched the wicker I didn't like it, so I'm sure that was part of it.

I like the shape of that basket much better... it looks like the sides fall out and the one I had did not do that and it definitely wasn't covered the same way. That is very cute; you get such cute stuff for girls!

it taking me a long time to find the right one becuase i didnt like the idea of the sides folding down if the baby grabbed it.

how is a moses different then a bassinette that you can take off the sleeping part (or is it?) http://www.specialtybaby.com/kotevidebaca.html
I know the one my aunt gave me the basket came out (I'd give it to you but I gave it away 1.5 yrs ago since I hated it). you could look for a used one, or new and just hire jackie of all trades seamstress to sew you up some new coverings for it. I know they have patterns. Honestly I think you will want it elevated otherwise you will be telling Myah 7,000 times a day to stop picking at the sleeping baby.

nah myah is really good.:fingerscrossed

i have been working with her for a few months now on how to act around babies. Maribel's baby has been doing wonders for my girls and they are getting used to having a baby around thank goodness.

i found a doll version of a moses basket this week so i'm going to get her one if i end up getting one for the baby that way she has one for her babies.

oh and another reason i keep coming back the the basket is that again, i dont want to take up to much room in my house since we are so packed already (i really need to get rid of stuff but dont know where to begin)

I don't think myah would do anything "bad" "on purpose" but she may get curious and be bored and want to play with the baby I know my kids do some times.
And a bassinette footprint is the same as the moses, you could always just not set up that part too... just offering a idea you may not have considered ;) I know we sure as heck don't have $200 to drop on a moses since once baby was asleep you couldn't move them w/o waking them anyway.
