My3sonsplus1 03-27-2009, 10:01 AM um... water... :) Brookepanda 03-27-2009, 10:04 AM to wash my face i use baby soap :thumb I put oil of olay facial mousterizer with sunscreen on to mousterize... before bed, and after my shower in the am I put on the baby eczema cream to the eczema patches on my face :rolleyes Marisa 03-27-2009, 10:04 AM I use BeautiControl (https://shop.beauticontrol.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10551&productId=68409&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=38273&top_category=) and have been since I got preggo with Brianna. I have nasty adult acne if I don't. :tongue I use the whole line so I do cleanser and scrub in the shower, then toner and two moisturizers. One is from the "Clear" line and the other is a vitamin C sunblock product also from BC. I also just bought their night time stuff which I haven't tried yet. Kellie_MO5 03-27-2009, 10:06 AM right now I have a Noxzema (sp?) foaming face cleaner I use every night (stupid breakouts... grrr) and I have a miessence moisturizer I use occasionally, but it feels a bit too oily for me, so I'm thinking I may cut that out entirely for now... :dunno PhreSpirit 03-27-2009, 10:11 AM I use a Neutrogena pore minimizing face cleanser every morning in the shower. I have a pretty good supply of ProActiv too which I don't use unless I'm having a really bad breakout episode. I know I should use a moisturizer, but I haven't been able to figure out my skin type so I'm not sure what will work for me. surmick 03-27-2009, 10:14 AM I don't do much than water and the soap I use in the shower to clean but I have gotten into the habit of moisturizing every morning with something that has an SPF of at least 15 in it. I used to use Neutrogena but I have a Loreal one that I like right now. It also can't be real heavy either. weg'smom 03-27-2009, 10:30 AM I use Pevonia Botanica products (http://www.pevonia.com/category.aspx?cid=95). I use a combination cleanser, a problematic skin care lotion, spot treatment, and problematic skin care cream. I LOVE these products. That said, once my current stock runs out I'll have to change my ways...It's hard to justify paying for such awesome stuff when I've been laid off :( Theresa 03-27-2009, 11:12 AM my face wash is a coq-10 product from whole foods--it's in the purple and green bottle. i use the anti wrinkle moisturizer by them at night and then an aveeno skin brightening one for the day. when i'm washing my face at night i use the olay facial cloths. howardvm 03-27-2009, 11:22 AM I put oil of olay facial mousterizer with sunscreen on to mousterize... Me too! I use Kaiser Acne Face Wash to wash with. TaivensMama 03-27-2009, 11:30 AM I use baby soap to wash my face...I also use Mineral MicroDermabrasion cream from Physician's Formula that also has a mousturizer for after...it is AMAZING...I had the weirdest skin after having Sawyer, dry patches, oily areas, deepset wrinkles and doing this daily has much improved my skin and its so smooth and a much better canvas for makeup and I got it for a quarter of the price at the good ol' grocery outlet! Brookepanda 03-27-2009, 11:32 AM Me too! I use Kaiser Acne Face Wash to wash with. welcome to the 'cool' club :tongue CrystalD 03-27-2009, 11:39 AM I don't have a 'tried and true' brand. I use a moisterizer after I get out of the shower. Either wash my face with a face wash, baby wash or Trader's Joe's body wash. Right now a have some free samples of AVON products and I am using them up. I tend to purchase what is on sale. JuliaSannar 03-27-2009, 11:59 AM I swear by my oil of olay with spf....I have tried SOOOO many others and this is the only one I keep going back to. I switch up cleansers though. I love a good apricot face scrub every now and then - but it screws with my rosacea. Brookepanda 03-27-2009, 12:11 PM I see you are in the cool club too Julia! Luckylove 03-27-2009, 12:11 PM I use Clinique three step system (toner, soap and lotion). I also use a neutrogena face wash to get the makeup off. Maritza 03-27-2009, 12:18 PM What products/ brands (moisturizers, serums, creams, etc) to do use? Hi my name is Maritza and I am addicted to beauty products:giggle I use Perfectly Clean from Estee Lauder, to wash my face and remove make up. I really, really love it! ....Not too long ago I got the Clinique Dramatically differenand t moisturizing lotion,...and end up dissapointed. I also like the serum from Clarins and the creme desalterante, very good stuff! Believe it or not, I find the Nivea Soft moisturizing cream, VERY good! for $4.00 it really keeps my face and skin moisture 24/7:thumb Do you stick to one product line or mix/match? I mix and match depending on the weather. I always had dry skin and I need something that keeps my skin moisture all day, specially the face. For strechmarks, I used to buy the Oil from Clarins, but since I can't afford it anymore now I am using BioOil and I love it! you can find it at Walmart fot $19.00 or order ir online at drugstore.com I also like to use skin oils for after the shower, I have a couple from Natura, a Brazilian brand that I love! colleen_22205 03-27-2009, 12:23 PM i use clean and clear stuff. juliansmom 03-27-2009, 02:28 PM My face skin is totally schizo and has been constantly changing through the years from typical adolescent zits to post partum hormonal war zone. So using oily skin/acne stuff was wreaking havoc and causing dry itchy patches and didn't solve the zits either!!! I had been using the Dermalogica line because it doesn't have any fragrance because I intensely dislike fragrance on my face. But after childbirth it was too drying for my skin. By chance I tried the Aveeno wash and it works really well and leaves my skin soft and not dry. It is way cheaper than the chi-chi stuff I had been buying but unfortunately it does have fragrance but I can live with it, it doesn't persist after rinsing. I do have to say that I just found a fabulous face lotion called Boscia, no fragrance (it doesn't even have that smell that other creams with sunscreen have) and is soooo good, not greasy, totally hydrating. Good stuff. JuliaSannar 03-27-2009, 02:46 PM I see you are in the cool club too Julia! LOL. yah! My mom got me hooked on that stuff. I used to laugh at her and tell her I would NEVER use an old lady cream on my face. I shelled out $$$$$ for years trying different spa products/high end stuff trying to find one I liked. I just ended up loving the OOO. khanson 03-27-2009, 04:28 PM I stick with just one brand. I use the dry skin line from Jafra. Cleanser, toner, moisturizers, serums and masks depending on what's going on with my skin. erin anne 03-27-2009, 09:51 PM I went back to using Philosphy products, and have noticed an improvement since going back to their products. -I went to the mothership (Sephora) and got their "Make-up Optional" skin care set (although you will NOT be seeing me w/o mak-up) -and "I Believe" peptide eye balm (worn under "Hope in a Tube") I love how they name stuff... The kist was $78 but it last for 3 months or so... Lynette 03-27-2009, 10:16 PM When I ran out of face soap I never replaced it because my skin has been pretty darned good lately so warm water in the shower has been working for me. For moisturizer I use the that Clinque anti-aging daytime one with SPF and maybe some Clinque eye cream if I remember. I should add I have a lot more in my cabinet then I actually use because I feel like it interferes with how my makeup goes on and wears. becky 03-27-2009, 10:30 PM i have had horrible break outs since having shelsea. she really screwed up my skin :( i used to use Dove facial cloths in the shower but one day i tried the oil of olay oily skin face cloths that i saw in costco and they work great. for the break outs so far the Clear Skin Bundle from Arbonne has done the trick and my skin is under control. Now if only there was a magic solution to get rid of the scare from the massive break outs i have had for the past two years. tggrr2 03-28-2009, 03:46 PM I was using Beauticontrol and then lost my rep. I've used the Avon facial wash which I love as well. Then my friend sent me Mary Kay 3 n 1 and I have 3 huge pimple on the side of my neck. So I won't be using that anymore. nona23 03-28-2009, 03:55 PM What products/ brands (moisturizers, serums, creams, etc) to do use? Hi my name is Maritza and I am addicted to beauty products:giggle I wasn't going to post because I don't like to advertise but this made me giggle...I too am addicted to beauty products! But my addiction is the frou frou all natural stuff like Dr Haushka and Weleda, and just about anything from the Whole Foods beauty section - this coming from someone on an extremely tight budget :bag - I fund raise for them though :tongue and they are my luxury - right now I have been using Weleda almond cleansing lotion, rose day cream and iris night cream. Since we're on the subject - what do I do with the bags and bags of half used products that I get tired of, shampoos, lotions, etc? I really don't feel right about throwing them away, I would like to give them away or donate them, but would anybody want half used stuff? juliansmom 03-28-2009, 06:14 PM I what do I do with the bags and bags of half used products that I get tired of, shampoos, lotions, etc? I really don't feel right about throwing them away, I would like to give them away or donate them, but would anybody want half used stuff? I know what you mean. In a moment of spa trip weakness, I dropped some serious coin on some Somme Institute products that I hardly used on my whacked out post partum complexion. Now I am sheepish I have this stuff sitting in my drawer.:( MamaLaura 03-29-2009, 08:10 AM I use Equate exfoliating facial towelettes to first take off most of my makeup. Then use a 3 step Clinique line that includes a soap, a toner/exfoliant, and a moisturizing gel. Then I spot treat as necessary with a Clearasil vanishing cream. wyattsmama 03-29-2009, 04:08 PM i used to use whatever i could buy in the store but it ruined my skin. i have very sensitive and acne pron skin. beauticontrol hurt my face like none other. then i switched to dermalogica which i LOVED but holy crap it was expensive. now i use a brand called dhc. www.dhccare.com it's a japanese brand, and they have stricter rules about what can go into products. it's pretty much natural stuff, it doesn't hurt my skin, and makes it beautiful. i use a cleansing oil first...it sounds crazy, but it's absolutely amazing. then wash twice with a face soap. every couple of days use an apricot scrub. then apply sunscreen and moisturizer. i'm about to try buying their foundation since every product i've ever tried burns my face. i'm praying since their products having seemed to so far and are high quality their makeup will be too. My3sonsplus1 03-29-2009, 04:23 PM Since we're on the subject - what do I do with the bags and bags of half used products that I get tired of, shampoos, lotions, etc? I really don't feel right about throwing them away, I would like to give them away or donate them, but would anybody want half used stuff? You could always offer them here or to someone you know personally. I know I wouldn't have an issue per say with using a half used bottle of xyz if it was still good but would probably only do so if it was from a source I trusted/I knew the person doing the giving. There are probably takers on freecycle/craigslist as well if you are wanting to purge as well... erin anne 03-30-2009, 10:04 AM Could you possibly donate them to a women's shelter? IDK the rules on that... justamom 03-31-2009, 01:14 AM I have used Mary Kay since my 11 year old was a baby, and Estee Lauder before that. But to say use I mean I use it when I remember or on special occasions. This year I started reacting to Mary Kay, so I have been in the Market for a new skin care. I did a Beauti Control facial a week ago, purchased the Micro Derm Abrasion and the spinning brush for it. I got a sampler sized set to use for a while to see if I like it. I will be trying Arbonne, and Miessence as well for skin care. Just have to get a facial with them. I signed up with ONE (Organic & Natural Enterprise) group as a consultant to purchase at a discount. They had a special to sign up for just $6 in February. I did, and now will enjoy a discount for one year, with a free website. I also signed up with AVON and may be using the mineral makeup through them. Not so much the skin care. Arbonne, I have not had a chance to try yet, nor the Miessence. So it is still up in the air till I see how I react to them. There is a website that a friend posted on another forum, and I just have to find it. You can look up products there to see their toxicity. That may play a factor in what I choose to go with as well. dpugh 03-31-2009, 12:55 PM I bought Cindy Crawfords line of facial care products and love it. It is a little pricey for me but I do like it so for now I will stick with it. |
