KaisaG 12-15-2006, 11:23 AM We do one gift too :santa Mom of 2 12-15-2006, 11:35 AM We do one small gift too. Kate Mom to Patty and Tyler alowe 12-15-2006, 11:41 AM With my parents we open everything Christmas Eve and stocking stuff Christmas morning. With Chad's family it is one small present on Christmas Eve, which is always pajamas. Kellie_MO5 12-15-2006, 12:10 PM Just one... which this year will be before Christmas and it will be new clothes to wear to church... which my kids LOVE clothes so it's all good...lol daisydoc 12-15-2006, 02:45 PM it varies.... sometimes we'll open one small gift on christmas eve (mainly from each other... just James and I after the kids go to bed) other times we don't open any at all and we just wait till christmas morning :) Kellie_MO5 12-15-2006, 03:25 PM When I was younger we would all stay up til midnight and open all the gifts then.. and when we woke up there would be a few more from santa becky 12-15-2006, 03:54 PM we have done both. I have only celebrated xmas with victor since my family are not into the christmas thing. SO that said we would open all xmas gifts at midnight at victor's parent's house in big bear. Now that are all alone here we have changed it up a bit. Last year we opened everything xmas eve since that was when we had family here. This year no one will be here and victor has to work so we are planning on opening one before the kids go to bed and the rest around 4am when he gets up to go to work. At least that is the plan. Who knows what will happen when the time comes though. colleen&Kail 12-15-2006, 04:19 PM we also open one gift which is usually our new PJ's that we get for eachother every year! My3sonsplus1 12-15-2006, 04:55 PM in the past we've gone to my aunts and exchanged gifts on Christmas eve but we aren't doing that this year so I am not sure what we will be doing. I think we are staying in SR/RP this year so will be starting our own traditions. We may do the open one thing if we get pjs or something like that for the boys. Lynette 12-15-2006, 06:38 PM We don't open presents on Christmas Eve at all but then I remembered this year my mom is working on Christmas so she is coming over the day before to give the girls their presents so I guess technically, they are opening a couple on Christmas Eve Day but that isn't our custom. Actually, we don't even put any presents at all under the tree until after the girls are in bed and they are all from Santa. Salina asked me once when she was younger why we don't give her anything for Christmas when Brian and I give each other stuff in the stockings. I told her because Santa spoils her rotten and it makes us adults feel left out so and she doesn't need anything else from us :D justamom 12-17-2006, 02:12 AM The kids open one gift of their choice on Christmas Eve. When the kids were really little we would open 1 present, then once they went to sleep we would make santa steps by cutting a foot print out of paper and putting it down on the carpet and sprinkling flour (or white powder) around it lightly. That way when they woke up they would see Santa's snowy footprints. It only works on the really little guys though. becky 12-17-2006, 02:12 AM I thought of Salina today at my husband's company holiday dinner. Someone had commented how he was afraid his 7 yr old wont believe in santa next year and the first person i thought of was Salina. Even though Kayla is 8 and still believes in Santa i still have to hand it to you Lynette for helping Salina to believe in santa for so long. She is such a wonderful girl. If i can jsut get one more year from Kayla that would be great. Lynette 12-17-2006, 05:02 AM Aw, thanks :) I really think a big part of it is because she really wanted to believe whereas I was a cynical kid. She really believes in the good in people, even to this day she isn't one of those snotty teenage girls who tries to exclude others but believes in the underdog and wants to help everyone. That coupled with me being "creative" (aka an adept liar :D) she was happy to believe despite her peers telling her otherwise. I hope Kayla believes as long as you want her to (It gets hard when they get older, they get so smart! LOL!) and when she doesn't anymore that she helps with Myah and sees how much fun it is from the other side :) becky 12-17-2006, 11:35 AM I noticed that about Salina and I really hope that Kayla can spend more time with her. Salina would be such a great influence. I think both our girls have a simular heart/soul :) jellybeanmichelle 12-17-2006, 05:24 PM When the kids were really little we would open 1 present, then once they went to sleep we would make santa steps by cutting a foot print out of paper and putting it down on the carpet and sprinkling flour (or white powder) around it lightly.
