Backyardigans

Does anyone's kids watch the Backyardigans on Nick? If so, do you have any insight into what kind of animal the Uniqua character is supposed to be?! Alaina has just within the past couple of days started liking it in the mornings and it is making Brian and I nuts trying to figure out what the thing is.

Of course, it could be entirely possible that trying to apply adult logic to a kid's show is just an act in futility....

We watch it. Lucca loves them. I have always assumed that Uniqua is just that, unique, and isn't supposed to be anything in particular. Aren't they cute? I love the episode where they are surfers looking for tikki beach.

At first they kind of bugged me but then Alaina started to like them and even though Brian *claims* he doesn't like them I caught him watching and singing one of the songs to her which of course he made out like it was some big sacrifice just for Alaina :D

Actually, the one Nick show I really like and watch with Salina is The Avatar :bag

we *love* the backyardigans. Brendan has a big pablo doll, but we like Tyrone the best. His FAVORITE book is a Backyardigans adventure book and when he first got it, we read it almost 20 times every day for 3 months. it was nuts!
I have no idea what Uniqua OR Austin are... is Austin supposed to be a cat or something?

I know my kids have watched Backyardigans, but we don't have Nick anymore. Comcast would not provide service to us here because we live at the business address, even though we have a "real" apartment on site. ARGH! So if we get into a house this year, I am not even considering Comcast.

Back on track, I have a friend who surprisingly knows a lot about the characters I can ask her when I see her again!
