Description:
The Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic in Windsor, CA is a celebration of Wine Country's most beautiful sites. A parade of hot air balloons dotting the sky. This annual event is held at Keiser Park in Windsor and features two days of hot air ballooning, food, crafts, balloon rides (tethered to the ground, so the balloon goes only 50 feet up) and other fun.

The Sonoma Hot Air Balloon Classic is a very kid friendly event, from your jumpie rides to a climbing wall to an old hot air balloon with fanned in air so people can explore inside of it. There's plenty of coffee and breakfast items to nosh on.

The Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic is for early risers. One of the highlights is the dawn patrol. In the wee hours of the morning, 3 hot air balloons take off. The site is nothing short of spectacular, with the fire that heats the balloons lighting up the morning sky. Check out the video.

Notables:
It must be noted that sometimes the weather grounds the balloons from taking off and instead the balloons stay tethered to the ground but go up 50 - 100 ft. The site is still great and regardless, it will be a day to be remembered.

We were hoping to go to this again this year since the boys had such a great time last year. They loved the big Energizer bunny. Sadly we have too much going on this weekend to get the boys up that early. Oh well. We will see them from our house those mornings. Austin loves pointing all the balloons out to Nathan and I while driving to school in the morning.

We'll be going. We're going to try to get there super early too but that may or may not actually happen. Brianna has been talking about this event for a YEAR!

We went early and saw the first few, but Kylie had a meltdown so we missed the larger group of balloons. Was still really cool to see and we are planning on going back tomorrow to see what we missed. :)
