I was wondering if any of you BFing mommas have a favorite place to shop for nursing clothes or PJs. I have a few items but are starting to look a little worn so i'm trying to find new ones.

Motherhood doesnt have much of a selection and the only other place I have bought from is Expressiva (an online store)

Nursing tops and pjs were just camis, for me... I wear camis under my reg shirts so I can just pull them up, and the camis down (yeah, I don't like showin my tummy...lol) and to bed I just wear the camis and sleep pants or panties, depending on the weather.... but yeah, for me Camisoles make EVERYTHING wearable (except some dresses...)

yeah I haven't used "nursing" tops/jammies since Joseph, my breasts just don't line up with the holes no matter what style opening I have so I'd end up stretching or even ripping the fabric at the seams trying to guide my breast into the opening and/or having the shirt plug up a duct a bit because it was tight on one part since the nipple wasn't exactly perfect in the opening. and I don't even have big breasts!

exactly. I have to do the boob lift up and then to one side to get them into the slit. Annoyed the crap out of me to have a hungry babe and have to do so much realligning.

I never did nursing tops- just tried to stick to v-neck tops. They made my boobs look smaller (which I liked) and they made it easier to just "slip out a nip" if you know what I mean :lol

I found some camisoles at Target. That is what I sleep in at night - it makes it real easy. Japanese Weekend (www.japaneseweekend.com) has some nice nursing tops. A little pricey - but you cant even tell they are nursing tops.

Now that I've stopped leaking like a faucet, I just sleep in my pajama bottoms. I found when I would be nursing in the middle of the night, half the time I'd fall back asleep while he was still nursing- with my shirt half off. Finally I just said screw the shirt. I was sleeping in tank tops with the built in bra things in the beginning though.

you are too funny Kaisa...i would do the same thing but usually get cold so i still tried to keep the top. Most times with Myah i just slept in a bra but i hated that too. I got a pair of nuring pjs from motherhood with myah and really didnt like them at all. I would either get tangled up in them or they would jsut look funky after a couple of days sleeping in them.

Yeah I did have a nightgown that had slits in it that I got at my baby shower- but it just made me feel like I was sleeping in a giant garbage bag. You're more than welcome to it if you want it.

:lol!!! I had one of those too. Not sure if it was any sort of improvement over hospital "garb". I think mine was softer???

Motherhood online has a MUCH better selection than the store and so does the outlet in Petaluma. I always had the best luck finding nursing tops at the Motherhood Outlet store. I also got some stuff from expressiva.

I only wear the PJ's around the house and I like the ones that are pants with nursing cami. Those are the best. I actually have one nursing top that I am not using anymore. I LOVED it after having Sevannah but now everything resides in a new zip code :lol so it doesn't fit me right. You're welcome to it if you like how it fits you Becky!

But usually to bed (once I stopped leaking like a seive!) I sleep in pj pants or undies and no bra. When I get up to nurse Jazper (if I have to... he's back to sleeping thru the nite! YAY! :D) I just grab a pad and hold it over the theboob not being used incase I let down hard. You gotta let the girls breath evey once in a while! I liked the sleep bras with Sevannah but they annot the hell out of me now. Funny how things change from kid to kid.

lol... during the night I usually end up with both boobs hanging out the top of the top... but I just like knowing I can pull it up right quick if need be...lol

I wore a nursing bra with just regular clothes out in public. My sister in law turned me on to the Nursing Bra. It is made of modal which is sooooo comfy and breathable. Link: http://www.lovemytummy.com/info/maternitybras.htm. (http://www.lovemytummy.com/info/maternitybras.htm)

Also the same line has Maternity Camis that are great during pregnancy, and right after if you have that little tummy pudge. Here is a link: http://www.lovemytummy.com/info/camisol.htm. (http://www.lovemytummy.com/info/camisol.htm)

But while at home I let the girls out and just went topless with my first born. With my daughter I would just wear a loose top and no bra around the house since I had a 3 year old boy in the house with me.

For covering up the tummy you could use something like the Tummy Tube or Bella Band: http://forums.wnetwork.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=2308. (http://forums.wnetwork.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=2308)
