Okay, it's come that time again. I have these ideas in my head, but noone to do them with in the immediate future.
My next month (the few appts I'm taking) is filled with maternity sessions, and the month after that is going to be mostly newborns it appears.
I'm looking for a few things. If you fill any of these requirements, that's awesome. If you know someone who does, let me know. I'm only posting this offer here, so it won't be on my blog or anything. This is just kind of an SCM exclusive i suppose.
Here are my ideas/needs

1.) I want more *artistic* newborn sessions in my galleries. If you know of someone who has a TRUE newborn (must be within the first 2-3 weeks of life... and the earlier the better) have them get ahold of me. I'm willing to offer 50% off session fee, and 25% off all prints purchased. (discounts are only available with a signed model release so i can use the images in my portfolio) They also have to agree to doing a few of the specific poses I want for in my portfolio (nothing crazy)

2.) Families families and more families. Preferably with younger kids (under 8 or 9 ish). I'm offering one of two things:

a.) If they want *some* creative control over the session - ie. being able to say what kind of poses they want, what locations they want, etc - then I'll offer 50% off a session fee and 20% off print prices.

b.) If they don't care to have any creative control over the session - ie. I choose poses, locations, etc - I'll offer a $20.00 session fee (all of which will be credited back as a print credit once they choose to order), and 20% off prints (I'm only taking a VERY VERY limited number of these sessions, so you/they'll want to book quickly if this is what you want to do.)

here are two examples of the types of photos I want to do (notice: no real 'posed' family type shots... more creative posing or unposed photographs)
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b145/jackiereitz/myspace3.jpg
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b145/jackiereitz/myspace2.jpg

This is just going to be a limited thing, and like I said, I'm only offering it here (but feel free to let a friend know if you think they fit the descriptions on any of these)

Given the weather, the family shots will either be in their home (requires a home with LOTS of available light - big windows, etc) or outdoors (will be dressed in winter attire, so they must be okay with that "look"

These appointments are the same as any and will have to find an available date for their session time... here is an excerpt from my website with information about sessions:

All session fees must be paid for at the time you schedule your appointment.
Please note that a $100 print commitment applies to all standard photo sessions.
Please try to be on time, as I will reschedule if you are more than 15 minutes late. If you do not show up for your appointment, there will be NO refund on your session fee. If you need to change your session date or time prior to your appointment, please contact me atleast 72 hours before your scheduled session. Changes and cancellations can only be made by phone. When sessions are cancelled or postponed, no refunds will be made, but your session fee can be applied to another day if your session is postponed/cancelled atleast 72 hours before your session.

ME ME ME! Jackie, you know I've been wanting to work with you for some time and if you think Bill, Brianna and I would work for your family sessions we'd love to schedule it! We'd be happy to give you 100% creative control. Our house isn't a great "photo location" so we'd probably have to be outside somewhere.

nakking... what Marisa said. My family does best with the no pose shots anyway ;) And I *like* the no real pose as they actually show the charter of the subjects much better. I hated the few times we attempted picture people. Not only did you have to do xyz poses, but we were made to do them in the "correct order" as in the kids could not do the sit on the train picture until they first did the close up, and far away shots or whatever. I was like "if you do not do the train picture -first- (to warm them up to the idea/take their lead just a bit) they aren't going to let you do any other poses (where she is wanting to touch them and they have to have their head just so and they have to smile, not smirk, grimace or laugh) ugggh! Heck you don't even need to snap any pictures in the 5 minute getting to know you period but sheesh expecting 3 little kids to just be ready to strike a very calculated pose on cue is silly.

january 21st just opened up, so if anyone is interested in that day, let me know!

Lisa: will your husband be able to be there? I'm looking for pics of the full family unit, so if he can be there (I know he works crazy hours sometimes) then take a look at my calendar and tell me what day you can do.

Also, everyone, be sure to read over the info in the first post about what a normal session entails. I've gotten a few PMs from ppl not realizing that the standard session policies apply :)

also wanted to note that i'm looking for pregnant ladies to do maternity sessions with. I had a session for this coming weekend (the 21st) and it was cancelled b/c she wasn't comfortable doing maternity pics... so be sure that whoever is pregnant is okay doing barebelly shots, etc. I CAN do tasteful nude maternity pictures if that is what the person is looking for, but that's not what i'm looking for for my portfolio, so it would have to be a mix of portfolio type images and then what they want as well.
I can do the $20 session fee and 20% off prints for up to TWO pregnant women.

Actually he works the standard m-f "9-5" which actually equates to anywhere from 6:30-5:30 for 9.5 of time since he is able to do flex time. Eitherwhich way he never works weekends :). I will check over the calender (and talk to dh :lol, I have not informed him yet)
Were you talking about the $100 thing as far as "standard session policies"? $100, be on time and cancel w/i 72 hours right?
Do you have prices listed somewhere so I can see what $100 will end up getting me. So I will end up with what, $120 value ( for $100?) in photos when all is said and done, as a minimum?

yes ma'am. the quoted part from my site.
The prices can be viewed on my site at:
http://www.reitzphotography.com/mainindex.html
click on "investment"
and scroll down.
it shows all my standard print sizes and what the basic prices are.
The prices go up from there if you choose things like canvas, fine art paper, etc.

Hey Jackie I am going to have to bail. Unfortuneatly we aren't in the financial position to make such a $ investment in photos right now. You take great pictures but at $100 for one photo (if we are getting family pics we were going to get a 11x13 likely) that just isn't going to work for us. Waaaa! Best of luck though!!
