online friends or local friends?
|
View Full Version : do you have more... LMS 01-14-2007, 09:25 PM online friends or local friends? becky 01-14-2007, 09:28 PM hey that is an unfair question...If i was in LA i would say more local friends by a long shot but since I'm still new to the area I dont have many local freinds. daisydoc 01-14-2007, 09:59 PM If you had asked this question before I found this group I would have had to say more Local Friends. But in the last year, being with SCM, I would have to say slightly more online friends! :D I have met lots of mommas thru My Gym and still have my local friends but I think now I have a few more "online" friends than local friends.... but then again y'all are local! :lol So how do we count that? ;) LMS 01-14-2007, 10:10 PM i count "local" as people you hang out with in person, and "online" as people you really only talk to online :) KaisaG 01-14-2007, 10:24 PM I said more local but there is something about having a baby that kinda distances you from most people that don't have kids. I mean when you are a baby and are breastfeeding, etc. you can't really go out and party with everyone. I'm supposed to go to a bachelorette party next month, and it will be interesting to see how that goes since I don't really drink that often and rarely stay up past midnight. Kellie_MO5 01-14-2007, 11:46 PM I have more local friends.. but really my definition of friend is a little.... I dunno..... see, I have a lot of acquantances, and a lot of people I talk to and may see sometimes, but I wouldn't consider then actual friends... I guess I really just have 2 catagories for people I know.. there's friends, who are good friends that I have no problem talking about anything with and am completely open with, like a small group of close friends, and acquantances are what other people I guess just call reg friends... but I'm more of an all or acquantance kinda person, i guess...lol... I don't really have the patience to deal with people that I have to pussyfoot around and not really be myself... Okay.... that may have not made sense... I've had a cold today and am tired and haven't been making sense much today... so.. sorry if that ^^^ is all gibberish...lol My3sonsplus1 01-15-2007, 07:56 AM Well I think I met most of my friends online (how sad is that!) but then we become friends IRL so what are they now?? I don't really have many "friends", like Kellie said most of the people I know are more "acquaintences"... daisydoc 01-15-2007, 09:09 AM i count "local" as people you hang out with in person, and "online" as people you really only talk to online :) Then I have more local friends than online friends!;) becky 01-15-2007, 12:46 PM i count "local" as people you hang out with in person, and "online" as people you really only talk to online :) well since you put it that way then i guess i have more local...it jsut depends where i am locally. I have lots of aquaintances as Kellie put it but few I feel comfortable I can tell anything to. karen-clark 01-15-2007, 07:17 PM Definitely more online friends for me. If I had as many locally as I have online there's no way I'd have time for any of them! It's so much easier (time wise) to send off an email throughout the day. vs. spending time on the phone (ignoring the kids) or visiting in person. LOL Plus over the years I've found it easier to create even deeper friendships online because of the depth of communication through writing, people are freer to get to the heart of matters and discuss touchy subjects they'd be too timid to talk about in person. That said, many of my online friends I've made an effort to meet in person eventually! They aren't local though.
