Hi gals,
I think I have hand eczema. My hands are red, swollen, scaly and hurt a lot. I just called to see my dr but I can't get in until next Thursday.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do? I've been trying to put lots of lotion on them but that isn't helping. :(
Thanks,
Beth
You can try hydrocoritzone. That should alleviate it a bit, but long term use can cause your skin to get thick in those areas. My only suggestion is not to use too much soap as that will dry out your skin and keep moisturizing, but use something gentile and non-perfumed like aveno.

there are a bunch of things that you can use that are more "homeopathic" to help in treatment of eczema but i can't remember them right now! :bag My nephew had a bad problem with it when he wsa an infant.
I do know that there's one lotions you can get at Whole Foods that helps. It's actually a "baby" product made by California Baby. It helps with minor cuts, abrasion, diaper rash and eczema. Comes in a little jar... ahd calendula cream in it which is the main ingredient that helps with the eczema/rashes.
Good luck! And if I rememeber any of the other treatments I'll post them.

i the product that i cant recommend enough is www.mymamaslove.com (http://www.mymamaslove.com/) Its all natural and works miracles. I have see how it works on baby ezema, diaper rash, my own rough skin and several others and so far everyone i have recommeneded it to has said it works. You can get jars as cheap as $5. If you would like to try it out i do have some at home and will be ordering more here in a few days as i want to be prepared for baby when she comes.

I had *HORRIBLE* excema as a child and it comes back in the winter (not as badly though) when it gets really cold and dry. I'd suggest using some Aquaphor or Hydrocortisone on them and then put on some cotton gloves to help it soak in better. If you don't have cotton gloves you can use socks too.

I have some Natural Family Boutique Body Butter that is supposed to work well on excema/dry skin. It is thick like aquaphor/vaseline but it does not have any petroleum products in it. It comes in scented and unscented.
