Will there be any children's businesses left to close? This is so sad.
They probably had a huge investment into this business and will now still owe all that money or will have to file bankruptcy.
I'm grateful that My Gym is surviving as I can't imagine going through closing shop.

I think they have another store in Fairfield? Honestly, I wasn't impressed with them after a chaotic story time episode. I agree they have a lot of $$$ invested in their business, but maybe they will shift some of it to the other store or sell it for some profit.
Lorna, you business is surviving bc you are in charge. Now if you could just open another one in COTATI!!!!! :thumb

I am not too surprised. Their markup was a bit much and the 2-3 times I have gotten items there they took 30+ min to ring up because either the person was new and didn't know how to work the register or the system was down and they could only take exact change or a check.
Oh and I second the "Lorna, you business is surviving bc you are in charge. Now if you could just open another one in COTATI!!!!! "

I'm assuming you're referring to a Lee Middleton doll, because I don't think they carry any other dolls in that price range. But those dolls aren't "overpriced" - they cost that no matter where you get them. And you get more than just the doll, there's an entire adoption experience.
Here (http://www.sonomacountymom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16276&highlight=middleton+doll) for Brooke's pictures of Maders getting her's, and here (http://www.sonomacountymom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16478&highlight=kaylyn+birthday) for pictures of Kaylyn getting her's.

I dont know, to *me* I couldnt ever spent that much on a doll. I could go to target and get 4 or 5 for that price... JUST MY OPINION.

Yeah, I get that. It isn't for everyone. I'm just saying it's not just ANY doll, so I can see why they're priced the way they are... Not that everyone should be cool with buying them or anything.

OMG Laura....that took me down memory lane.....you linking back to the post of the girls getting their dolls!
Tammy's daughter got one as well :)
They are having a birthday party for the dolls sometime this month at the store....
I can't recall the date of the top of my head...
FWIW, the dolls are heavy...the size of an actual newborn, Madelynn plays with her doll all.the.time. she is always feeding her....loving her....she puts her to bed in the dolly bed next to her bed at night...she loves her 'big baby' we actually got her two new 'ba ba's' today for her dolly :love
Erin....I got some cupcake props for photography...which I used tonight at my shoot :love they were perfect for what we were doing!!!
I also got hair clips for my girl...becuase...like my girl and her (now 26 pairs) shoe collection....she has a boat load of hair clips.....last time I sat and counted it was over 150 :bag :giggle
I love to have a girly...accesorized matching pretty princess.....what can I say? :lol

WOW! That should work out for her! SHop and play for everyone! Dads can watch the kids while mom shops, I like that. Thanks for the info.

Can I borrow any dads out there? My dh never goes shopping with us, or really to any events for that matter. For me Kidspot in a mall means I would never get any shopping done if I went with the kids.

can you promise them a trip after you have finished your shopping though... that seems like a good trade off... and you can rest your feet after having gone shopping while the kids get out their energy.

Frank will take an apple pie for payment.... trust me, I am not a big shopper, but this Kidspot idea strikes my fancy. We should SERIOUSLY set up a shopping/playdate and bring the DHs, then take off to shop/get a bite (too bad Cheesecake Factory isn't there!) and let the dads watch the monkeys. (oh and Lorna, lets tell Tim they have a "fishing pond" at the new Kidspot.... they "should" have a toilet right? We can put some "brown" fish in there..... my little Billy would be happy to contribute......ha...ha...)

I hate to hear when businesses go out of business! You know there's got to be some sort of sadness behind it. Anyways, I never got a chance to check it out....

I've been in several times since they announced the closure...they still have a pretty fully stocked store.....I think that's because everything was only 30% off.....
I was in there most recently late last week.....
I'm going to check it out tomorrow on my lunch break...

Is this one of those build your own stuffed animal type places? We were talking about doing that for Jackson as a way to get rid of the binky.
