I have to find an OB/GYN in the area. Don't need the OB part yet, but i'd like to find someone who i can go to if/when we get pregnant too, if that makes sense.

Everyone just give a shoutout for your favorite doctor and why you loved them (and where they practice, etc)... this'll be a helpful thread for new members too :)

I have no great love for any of the doctors at Women's Medical Group, but one of the midwives there Elizabeth Smith is great :) I like her because she is totally laid back and actually treats pregnancy as something under nature's control, not hers or like it is a disease that needs to be cured. She lets you run the show :)

Suzie Saunders (another Midwife at Women's OBGYN) is THE BOMB!!!! :D I LOVE HER! She was the only person who didn't give me crap for having a home birth with Sevannah and TOTALLY respected me and my wished for how I WANTED to birth Jazper.

I went to Santa Rosa OBGYN and thought it was OK. I loved my last OB Dr. McCarthy. He was kinda old school and I liked that. He respected my wishes and always made me feel at ease. Don't know how you feel about a male Dr. tho. I had Dr. Kellert with Jacob in the same practice, and she is one of the best OB's in the county, is head of the hospital, etc. but had no bedside manner. I was a nervous first time mom and had some minor complications with blood pressure, but she never really made me feel at ease or gave me anymore information than she thought I needed to know.

The main thing about the practice that I didn't like was there was one Dr. there that was new towards the end of my pregnancy and I seriously think I was his first OB patient! I was already uncomfortable from being preggo, but when he stripped my membranes or checked me it hurt!!! So of course when I go into labor, my Doc is on Vaca and he is the on-call dr. He seriously almost didn't make it for the birth because there was another lady in labor at the same time and we were racing to the finish at the same time. I was sitting there telling the nurses, if he doesn't get here in the next few minutes, I am going to push this baby out without him! He showed up finally and I pushed and that was it. I kinda wish one of the nurses could have delivered me because there was no need for him to be there.

OK, that's my long rambling story :)

Well, I know there aren't a lot of Kaiser fans but since that's my ins. that's what I got... That being said, I LOVE my doc, actually she's a Nurse Prac. but that doesn't really matter, kwim. Denise Hoover. Love her! She's laid back, made me feel really good about my choices/birth plan etc. Only thing that sucks with Kaiser is they staff L&D with doctors and midwives but it's just luck of the draw who's there when you deliver. I got a really crappy midwife. But for the GYN and for the whole pregnancy... Denise was awesome!

I go to Dr. Ashley Weinert. She is over by SUtter Hospital on Chante Road(Becky's Dr. works in there too). Its for high risk pregnancies and I have never had a problem with her. She explains everything and I never felt pressured to do this or do that. Ken and I were very comfortable with her.

I go to the Women's Medical Group as well and Susan Logan is my doctor. She is good, but Suzie Saunders is awesome. Although she will be out of the office for awhile in March as she is having a baby. She helped deliever Madeline and she was great, I would have fallen apart if it weren't for her cheering me on. I also like Cecelia Rondou she is very friendly and personable. I have been pretty happy with this group of doctors and midwives but I did find myself waiting for long periods of time for my appointments which got old.

I was going to say the same thing about Womens OB/GYN (I had Suzie Saunders too) is the only drawback is they are a HUGE practice and you can be there for hours because you rarely get in on time. The upside of that though is they DO take as much time as you need if you have questions etc. which is why they are running late all the time!! LOL
