Are you reading anything good?

I've been reading a couple of the other series from Charlaine Harris (Sookie author). They are okay. Not as good as Sookie but entertaining.

I am currently reading a book my stepmom sent me after she read it titled Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's it has given me great insight to what Tiaven deals with and I will never again say the phrase "look me in the eye", that's for sure haha!

I am having the desire to read another romance or mystery something too though...

Hmmm well....SCM and Facebook. Do those count as reading materials :bag

Not much. Though my mom is trying to get me to read a book titled "The Shack". Not sure if I'll go there or not though. It has about 4 chapters dedicated to the loss of a child by kidnapping. :( NOT my kind of reading.

Some of my friends wanted me to read that and did not think I can handle it...life is rough enough...do I really need to read someone else's horror story?

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking!

My mom's argument was that it's fiction, but still, even if it is, NO THANK YOU!

One of the mom's in my online autism support group heard an adult with asperger's talk once and he said that it was actually painful for him to maintain eye contact with another person. Since I heard that, I've never made Caden make sustained eye contact with me. Scott doesn't get it at all and gets peeved when Caden won't look him in the eye :rolleyes

I'm reading an Anne Frank biography that I snatched at a free stuff playdate last year lol. I'm usually not a biography fan, and it's kind of slow reading, but it's interesting.

Currently I'm alternating between Dan Brown's Lost Symbol and a bargain book I picked up--The Weight of Silence, depending on what kinda mood I'm in.

I'm reading New Moon and am 1/2 way through it and have been 1/2 way through it for a few weeks. I got through Twilight really fast, but I can't get into New Moon as much as I did with Twilight.

Nothing. I have a mountain of books staring at me, but I can't seem to get motivated to read them.

Megan--are those the graveyard books? I have them, just haven't gotten around to starting them.

I enjoy a read like that...one of my fave books is A Child Called IT...it was horrific, but makes you see that things are not that bad in your life when someone lived through that...

I have actually had to pull Neil aside and tell him to stop telling him to look at him 900 times when they talk....the book explains why they don't like eye contact one being that they actually pay LESS attention when looking someone in the eye because they are trying too hard to focus on looking them in the eye and unable to process what they are saying from the lack of focus on what they are saying....Now if he is saying it while he is on a tangent with Taiven I say quietly "McDowelllllllll:nono" and he knocks it off...someday it will just be ingrained for him to not do

Me too...it stuck with me for life...I didn't have the most pleasant upbringing but it was a PIECE OF CAKE in comparison to this poor boy!

I hear with my sisters keeper you won't like the movie after reading the book, but i have only seen the movie and absolutely loved it (the ending is the opposite of the book ending)...and I want to read the book...so when you are done I would love to borrow it!!

I read 1/2 of the The Shack and I didn't really like it, I could never connect with it at all.

Isn't it a great book! I heard the movie ends differently, so I never saw it. To me the whole book was that much more impactful because of the ending.

Stick with it! It's worth it to lead you on to the rest of it.

I used to be a VORACIOUS reader (like a book a week or more), but that was all pre-kid. All I have been reading lately are magazines, and socializing here and on Facebook! The big exception is getting through the Twilight books. They reminded me how much I love to read, and prefer it over movies. I am looking forward to the SCM Book Club meetings. I think I can handle a book a month.

My Sister's Keeper made me so mad at the end! Sucky way to end the book imo lol. I heard the movie was really bad.

Lovely Bones was a really good book!
