I generally don't show my before and after work but I am rather proud of this one. The other night I was working on some new editing techniques and I thought I would share my favorite before and after. I would have posted sooner but I wanted the make sure the model/client got to see the finished product first since I know she has been really busy and was anxiously waiting. I know some of you may recognize her as a mom here on SCM.

My approach to boudoir photography is about feeling sexy, being sensual and making the attributes of the client shine with the goal to make all clients feel beautiful no matter what their shape, size or age and help them fulfill the fantasy they are trying to create. In doing so I wanted this edit to feel as if it belonged in a magazine and I am rather proud of the finished product.

I should also add that not everyone likes this kind of editing and that is fine by me. The great thing about there being so many photographers in the area is that people can pick and choose who they like best. This just happens to be something that I wanted to do for this shot and as long as the client is happy that is what matters. :) The people never look like they really do in a magazine so that was the look I was trying to go for oddly enough :lol The recent cover shot for Professional Photographer Magazine was the total inspiration for this btw.

Is this post in response to Seasyn's advertising for her brand new business? Were you talking "shop" recently and this was the subject matter? I dunno if all you photogs sit around and chit chat about this stuff or not :lol

Is this post in response to Seasyn's advertising for her brand new business? Were you talking "shop" recently and this was the subject matter? I dunno if all you photogs sit around and chit chat about this stuff or not :lolmajor :oops on my part because I should have waited to post my photo since seaysn just posted her stuff. Sorry about tjhat. honesty I had no idea how popular these kinds of photos were with the holiday season (I thought it was limited to vday) and I have gotten several calls from people I never met wanting them. So ya this was a recent shop topic and seasons post reminded me about this photo so I wanted to share.

I don't know about the other ladies here but I have a circle of photographers (many who are local) who we do talk shop all the time. My We get inspiration for each other and offer helpful tips all the time. Its interesting who two people can shoot the same place and even use some of the same PS techniques/actions yet the styles are so different. I find it nice to have a group of working professionals who I don't feel like there is tension or competition because we all are confident in our work and each other (except for that one gal I banned recently because she was trying to steal clients) therefore can talk freely about anything without someone getting upset.

I was talking to my client (not tammy) yesterday about her photo and how she wanted that kind of look so I showed her this photo which she loved. I wasn't sure if I could pull it off since this is not what I didn't in the last series so I was rather proud. The current issue of PA mag has this years photocomp winner and I was blown away by the editing. So perfect yet not overdone to look over edited. Just the skin was smooth yet the hair eyes lips all had perfect detail. So cool

Beautiful!

I also did not know that these types of photos were popular during the holidays and thought it was a Valentines thing. I have seen several different photographers on FB posting their photos.

Hats off to all of the talented ladies!

Hats off to all of the talented ladies!:yeah me too. I really thought it was just vday but so many are now wanting these as xmas gifts. I think its such an awesome idea. I have one client who is renting the suite for her husband's birthday where we took her photos so that she can give him the album there as a surprise. Funny thing is that all my clients never would have done this before but because of the growing popularity its the new hot thing. I think its so awesome there are so many photographers now offering this to clients so they have a wide variety of styles to choose from. Like with any/all photography its awesome to have a pool of styles/photographers to choose from so that clients can find someone that best fits their style. Even more so its wonderful to see so many women doing this now. It used to mostly be a guys thing and now its not as much
