My step mom found a used double strollerfor us in washington and had my dad bring it down to us. Its one of those where you have one kid in front of the other. Its huge but nice. there is no way i could ever get into a standard sized truck but it will work for taking kayla to school and back and walks around the neighborhood.

My question is this, it there a way to find info on the internet on how to work the thing. Its an eddie bauer. I somehow managed to open the thing up after struggling with it for several minutes but i dont have a clue how to break it back down again. I feel like such a ditz but i dont know how to work the thing.

i think this is the one she found for us. I have been searching on the net to find anything about the stroller but so far nothing.

I have a double stroller, but its by Graco. I've got Patty in the front and Tyler in the back. On the handle where you push the stroller(on mine) there is a button that you push from left to right, then hold it and you can fold the stroller up. I'm not sure about yours though. I will look at the picture and maybe I will see something.

It looks like it is set up very similar to mine. I would look at the handle that you push the stroller, that red button may close it if you hold the button and try and fold it up. Also, make sure that the red brakes on the wheels are up(not down) when you try and fold it up.

on mine you push that little button that Kate is talking about, then you kind of have to rotate the handle and push the handle forward for it to collapse. I can look at it for you next time I'm over though :)

Becky-Try this page http://www.djgusa.com/instructions.asp?productno=01068 and then enter the product # and date of manufacture. Those items should be located on a sticker somewhere on the stroller itself.

Don't feel bad about not knowing how to work it. I had to have Ken show me to, since I didn't know how to close the stroller he got when Tyler arrived.

See that red thing on the bar? You have to hold it in, and twist it at the same time WHILE you push the stroller down into the folded position. At least, that's how my graco works and how my Eddie Bauer single stroller works. It's a HUGE PITA.

Word to the wise: while the baby is small, get a baby carrier (I can loan you one or two if you need) and just a single stroller for your toddler when you can. Double strollers are cumbersome and a huge pain. If you can avoid it, do! For your sanity's sake. LOL.

i actually went down to the garage and found out how to fold the thing. it was on the side next to the front seat. not convienent at all but i found it.

I was actually going to start a new thread to ask you, what baby carriers do you recommend. I know you have several different kinds you use. I have the baby bjorn and a mi tai (sp?) that someone made for me which doesnt look as confortable as the ones you use.

I think i have only seen you use your double stroller once the whole time i have known you. This was something i actally thought about as i was puting together my baby registry and had ultimately decided on a stroller that would allow Myah it stand in the back or sit but wasnt as large as those huge double strollers. I even looked at the two kinds side by side and found the sit n stand to be much smaller and closer in size to the single strollers. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that i can somehow manage to get a sit n stand stroller for when the baby gets bigger.

The baby bjorn is the worst carrier ever, IMO, but some people dig it.

I use the Moby Wrap. Earth Child in Sebastopol carries them (www.earthchildonline.com) but my friend also sells them on her site (www.thegoodmama.com) and Lisa can probably still order you one through NFB as well. The Moby Wrap is my favorite because it's the most comfortable, but it DOES take some trial and error to get it working.

A Hotsling is another good carrier (www.hotslings.com), especially for the newborn period. I personally don't like one shoulder slings after the baby is 15 lbs or so (they give me plugged ducts). The Maya Wrap is another good carrier I've used, but again, one shoulder. For heavy babies I perfer two shoulder carriers -mei tai carriers (I like the kozy carrier at www.kozycarrier.com and the ones at www.meitaicarrier.com).

I thought this was a really good guide about choosing baby carriers

Haha, yea, I don't use my double stroller often. It's just so f*ing heavy! I use it for trips to the mall and sometimes walks in the park, and that's about it. Otherwise I just stick one of the kids in the single stroller and wear the other one, or go sans stroller and make my toddler walk if we're just at the park or something.

I have that exact same stroller my parents bought for me whe I had Eli... I coulda helped ya figure it out, but sounds like you got it ;).... have to say, I love my double stroller, it fits through aisles and everything, and holds so much.. but the basket it next to impossible to get to if the back is reclined at all...
