I'm creating my first photo book on Shutterfly. It's something new for me and I hope to do it each year. Like an annual "best of" album that we plan to mail to the grandparents for Christmas.

I have all the pictures placed. It's the theme/backgrounds that I'm not sure about. I created one book that had all the same page color. Not very creative but consistent. Now I've made a copy of that book and I'm experimenting with different page backgrounds.

This is for an 8x8 hard cover book. The pages have 2-4 photos each.

For those of you who have made these books before, do you recommend keeping it consistent or being creative?

Any tips to share? I'd like to finish up the project and get them ordered in the next day.

Thanks!

I think I would mix it up and be creative, because these are mostly pictures of your kids. If you were doing a photo book of a solemn occassion (wedding, etc) I would keep it all neutral and the same. But kids are fun, creative and never the same, so I would do something to match their personalities.
