Cooking class at Sur La Table

This was the funnest night EVER! To top it off, Will thoroughly enjoyed himself. He was expecting to just go to make me happy, but he had so much fun! Our chef instructor was Mary Bergin and I can't even begin to say how awesome she was. And the food was DIVINE! We even got to make an extra dish! It was the PERFECT xmas present from my amazing hubby :)

So the menu was Mushroom risotto w/ white truffle oil (I don't like mushrooms, but it was so good!), salad w/ candied hazelnuts, pears and blue cheese, baby lamb chops in provencal glaze and chocolate fondue w/ bananas and strawberries. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. is all I can say. I totally recommend it for a date night!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, you get 10% off any purchases for a week after the class! I bought an Emile Henry clay stock pot (http://www.surlatable.com/product/emile+henry+fig+flame-top+round+casserole%2C+5%26%23189-+qt..do?keyword=emile+henry&sortby=ourPicks), some sea salt and a couple random spatulas. The stock pot is awesome! So much lighter than the Le Cruset and she actually prefers it over the Le Cruset - so why not! I can't wait to start cooking in it :)

We have a gift certificate from xmas that we haven't used yet!! I'm so excited now...thanks for letting me in on your experience. I'll have to find a good night to go on... did you do the official date night or did you just pick the night that worked for you?
