View Full Version : Where do you buy your cars?
We are car shopping. Where do you buy your (used) cars? We want something that is used but still relatively new... I found one car that i REALLY want but it's a 2000, but i still REEEEEALLY want it.
if i decide not to go with that one, i need to know where to look that has nice used cars, isn't shady and doesn't charge you out the butt for no reason.
any tips?

The dealerships like Toyota usually have used car lots. I don't know if they charge you for random extra things though.

What kind of car are you looking for? I've heard good things about the (used) toyota certifed vehicles @ Freeman Toyota.
I bought 1 car at the car mart. They have good prices but you have to be careful. My friend bought a car there and later found out it had a salvaged title (which she did not want at all).
HTH!

Everyone will charge up the butt if you don't do your research and know what the car is actually worth. We bought my Explorer at the Ford dealership on Corby and the van at the Chrysler dealership that used to be on SR Ave. We always sell cars at the car mart though.

hey were is the car mart? We are in the market for a used car too.
It is in the fairgrounds parking lot. We've bought and sold there too. We also have gotten cars from craigslist too. I've never bought a car off a lot before, mostly because we've only owned crap :)

We've bought four vehicles from McConnell Chevrolet in Healdsburg. Bruce McConnell, the owner, will really stand by any vehicle you buy and make right if something comes up wrong with the car. If you decide to buy a new vehicle - search the internet and find the best price at any dealership. Print it out and take it to the local dealership. Ask for the internet salesman or the fleet salesman and ask if he can beat that price. Never deal with the floor sales men as they are the ones that charge the higher commissions. Ask if they offer AAA, Costco or any other discounts. I have never paid anywhere near what the sticker price is even after all the taxes, license, doc fees and warranty is added on. (I'm really frugal when it comes to buying a car/truck.) Hope this helps!

FWIW Financial Institutions won't do loans on salvaged titles...
If I were in the market to buy a car right now, I'd check with Advocar—

I bought a new car from them too and never had any issues... Someone else I know bought a USED car from them and it was a total JOKE. The car basically turned into a lake when it rained and they wouldn't take it back for anything. It was a real nightmare!
