Christyn95 02-05-2010, 09:51 AM Good question - I have one w/rust, but I just put aluminum foil on top. My3sonsplus1 02-05-2010, 10:13 AM can't you just scrub it off? That is what I do with my cast iron if it gets a rust spot. jellybeanmichelle 02-05-2010, 12:13 PM Google "Removing Rust From Baking Pans" A bunch of stuff comes up. Guess you can use a potato or cooking oil. It is not safe to cook with the rust, so I myself clean the pan and dry it and then put tin foil over it. The rust can come back. Stainless steel or glass pans are better. howardvm 02-05-2010, 12:23 PM I agree with the above. I would not cook with rust, I would clean it off or use aluminum foil. Shanta 02-05-2010, 12:31 PM I nearly always put parchment paper in my pans. It peals off cakes with no cracking, it isn't harmful if someone gets a tine bit of it, it makes clean up SO easy and your items come right out. I even put it under my racks when I bake bacon. Depending on what your cooking it could be better then foil My3sonsplus1 02-05-2010, 01:38 PM I agree with the parchment if you can't get rid of it. mommanat 02-05-2010, 03:45 PM I have a pan with rust on it, I just line it w/ aluminum foil before using it, works fine. |
