I just got online a few minutes ago and a bunch of my SoCal friend tweeted and posted on FB that there was a huge quake. I looked it up and sure enough it was a 6.9 quake that hit Baja, Ca. I was about to post a link and such here but all of a sudden the power is totally out in our house. Sheesh
From what I hear the quake was felt pretty hard throughout SoCal and the SD peeps are a bit freaked out. I'll post a link once I can. I just got off the phone with Mari who is in SD and she said it was really big and had to go outside for safety. My mom said it shook the house really bad and she's in LA. Scary

They now say the quake is 7.2! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_baja_earthquake What is up with all of the huge quakes lately?

As long as we don't get a huge one up here I'm fine. It scares me more to have a large quake here than in LA for some reason

My dad has a house down by Palm SPrings that they spend winter in... they are going back to Oregon this coming weekend. He was in a theater down there and said people ran out of the movie screaming.

Wow, very scary!! I noticed in news articles that it was centralized around Mexicali, Mexico. For 5 straight years, during this exact week, I would travel to Mexicali with my church youth group (through Azusa Pacific University) and we'd go on mission trips to small villages out there. As soon as I read it was centralized out there, I started to get teary eyed, as I started to think of all those small villages (where houses are built out of sticks, fertilizer bags, mud, etc etc) and then all the students from the US that are out there right now on the same mission trip. http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-428741
